I wondered whether the second gain switch gives more volume - there is no volume knob for the second gain switch - so that the pedal can be used as a rhythm and solo pedal? Love the time but I don't want to be having to add a boost for a solo when stacking the sending switch. Great playing by the way!

+Will Rowe The second boost only adds gain not volume unless you set gain 1 very low and gain two very high. The secong gain is added to gain 1. I use the pedal for a semi clean tone and gain 2 for a crunchy tone. Cheers

Beautiful! Really great demo, Simon. Always great to see what you came up with on this terrific channel. I've ordered this pedal too (copper edition) and ill have to wait until February :) Until ill meet my own pedal, I have a question: Would you compare the 2nd channel gain to be similar to the AC booster or the BB preamp? or maybe its a different kind of overdrive? same for the gain amount. Thanks! :)

+Joel Feldman Hi Joel, thanks man. It is worth the waiting time. The second channel is really just more of the RC but more saturated because of the gain stacking. It is different than the AC or BB to my ears. You can get the same amount of gain, but the RC is still more cleanish sounding and I feel like the amp compresses a little bit when you hit gain 2, a bit like the BB-AT compresses. Gain 1 is crazy good into my old Vox AC30. I could have done a complete video with that sound alone. Cheers

When are they going to make a pedal with your initials? Your playing is so smooth and articulate. Killer tones though I fear my big feet would struggle with the switches so close together. I’d go with a clean boost before pedal and clean boost after pedal for bump for solo’s

Hi Erick. Thanks :) I have only tried the spark booster briefly, so I can not compare them side by side. From my memory I strongly prefer the RC though the spark booster is a great pedal too. Cheers

Purple Haze hi Mike. Of the Xotic pedals I have used the Bb and epbooster the most. I bought the BB when it came out many years ago. And the ep is just great. I work with pedaler.eu so I have most pedals available for testing and stuff. Thank you. Cheers Simon

Well not really if you want exactly what the RC does. It is very special. However I personally use pedals with a little more drive like the BB and then add a booster (like the ep). But the sound in this video (RC and fender amp on the edge of breakup) is definetly the RC sound in my opinion. Is has a very glassy but warm tone. Very 3D in a way. I dig it 😊 cheers Simon
