Competition breeds innovation not just on quality but on price. $1100 for a 2011 that Barrera likes? Inconceivable. If I could shoot half as fast as this dude I'd be happy as hell. Imagine what we'll have in the 2011 world later this year, next year, within a few years. This is fantastic. I'm getting closer to getting a 2011. I have 7 different brands of pistols and 5 different sets of incompatible magazines. Total pain in the ass. With my ARs and AK I can grab any magazine from different manufacturers and it doesn't matter. I have a Romanian AKM and mags from several different former Warsaw Pact countries, it's great. AR same way, all the same. My Glock 17 is not my favorite pistol in my safe but I have $1800 into it because it serves a useful purpose. When I go into Idaho mountains and want to be mobile camping, hiking, ATV, snowmobiling, I have my extremely upgraded and fantastic Glock 17 and my Ruger 19122 9mm PCC. I know the Ruger PCC is not the top of the market but I love it and my backpack has been modified to carry it without any perceivable increase in burden. No, 9mm won't win a fight with a determined bear, mountain lion or pack of wolves but it's infinitely better than nothing, uncomplicated, decreases kit weight substantially over 2 different mags and ammo and having 100% compatible pistol and rifle type thing is really cool. Quality 2011, not top, but really nice that takes Glock mags is extremely attractive to me.

I'm going to assume that the grip texturing (both the front/back and sides of the grip) must be satisfactory if you didn't mention anything about it. I had this on my list of possible guns to by this year - this video pretty much makes that a concrete option. I've yet to see a bad review of this gun. The only issues I've seen folks have with it is the slide lock (they inadvertently actuate it, as you said you sometimes do). I can either train around that or swap it out for something more traditional. Thanks for yet another thorough review.

For the money an excellent gun. I have had mine for a couple of months bought it from a gun store. I must have one of the earlier releases, My XP Pro does NOT work with Magpul PMAGS or Glock OEM magazines. It works great with the KCI mags that came with the gun and BUL Armory AXE FS magazines so that's what I am sticking with instead of sending the gun back to Fusion. So this is something you will have to test if you purchase one. I have seen other videos where their gun worked with a variety of Glock magazines. Go figure ! My mag well tolerances must be off somewhere.

Interesting, thanks for sharing. I've been running my XP Pro with Glock OEM and PMAGS and have had no issues. I did notice that the Gen5 mags did wanna stick a little bit with that front lip on the mag base plate though. Still functioned but didn’t drop as cleanly.

On a different note, how do you like the Bul AXE fs? I see they are releasing a new version at SHOT show. Supposedly, better trigger. Any thoughts? I mean they will have a ported version, like their Tomahawk. For a carry gun, AXE or this new XP Pro? $750 vs $1100 is not a deciding factor. I'm really thinking of waiting to see if the XP Pro comes out with a comped version later this year... So many choices! Thanks for any input.

@@michaelkraus4115 I own the BUL Armory AXE Tomahawk ported barrel gun it's a Glock 17 Gen 3 clone. The gun is an absolute beast, I love it great quality and shoot ability, the only downside, it's loud as heck with those ports. I use those magazines in my Fusion XP Pro they work great. Overall the BUL AXE Tomhawk and the Fusion XP are my favorite pistols right now. I have heard rumblings that Fusion is going to come out with a ported barrel and a comp we shall see. Maybe they will announce it at SHOT Show. I'd like to get the 4 inch inch AXE C Tomahawk I believe it has 4 ports in the barrel shorter grip and 15 round magazines for 750 this is similar in size to a Glock 19. The full size AXE Tomahawk is too large to carry in my opinion. I like to carry appendix so nothing larger than a 4 inch gun would really work in my opinion. If you bought an XP Pro from Fusion you may want to take the mag well off if you want to carry it. They have inside the waist band holster for the Fusion XP on their website for about 60 bucks I believe by a company called UM Tactical.

@@michaelkraus4115 I own the BUL Armory AXE Tomahawk it's an outstanding gun !! I tried those magazines in the Fusion XP Pro and they worked great. Those BUL Armory guns are very high quality and great shooters. I wouldn't mind getting the AXE C Tomahawk to add to my collection and maybe even use it as a carry gun. Don't get me wrong, the Fusion is also a great gun and high quality. I've heard that there is comped and ported version of the XP Pro coming that would be an outstanding gun to purchase.

Romulus is beautiful, but wish it had deeper serrations. I would wait, I guarantee AF will be coming out with another not too far from now that will be even better. If you're wanting a project gun to fix up, then the Prodigy is great. I wouldn't pay retail though. You can find one around 1k, sometimes less. Change out the internals to EGW with Atlas trigger, get it ported(Southwest Precision does V12 for only $150), cerakoted and now you have a semi custom gun for around $1.5k that can keep up with guns twice its price. If you don't want to do all that, then I'd probably get the XP Pro. For all the features you get, you can't beat it. No MIM parts, excellent finish (way better than Cerakote), metal grip, etc. $1.2k is a steal. If you want to spend a little more, get the Bul TAC. Definitely the best 2011 for the money out right now.

Can you give us ANY update on the Holosun 507 issue? Has Holosun replaced it and have you remounted the replacement. There are a number of videos of this firearm having issues with the 507 and my XP Pro had the exact issue . Did you try your 507 on another firearm after having this issue on this video?

@@RogerBarrera I purchased a Holosun 508 hoping ,BUT doubting this was an optic issue. The 508 gave me the exact same results as the 507 and a 407 that I tried while waiting for the 508 to arrive. I would be interested to know if you zeroed your 508 or were just shooting steel plates. There IS an issue somewhere in the mounting of these pistols, bad plates, bad optic cut on slide or possibly even a barrel issue causing them to shoot low.

Of course recoil and grouping is better if you put a large flashlight under it. Shoot it without attaching anything on it and get a baseline. I understand you use the flashlight for the holster - then don’t use the holster. Use the table.

Yea the flashlight helps but its muscle memory and technique. They practice frequently which is why they get those groups. The barrel and trigger as well. 2011's > striker fire for getting better groups.

I doubt it was a faulty 507 Comp, because AtoZ EDC had the exact same issue, running that same optic! I suspect it's an issue with the fitment of the optic, specifically the 507 Comp, to the plate. When you get your replacement from Holosun, dollars to donuts it has the same problem...

I’ll try it out and see. The 507 Comp elevation adjustment was super stiff though. Also 508 and 507 mount the same. Not sure 🤷🏻‍♂️

I also had the exact issue with my Holosun 507, my dot had just come off another firearm and was zeroed at the center of the adjustment and shooting to point of aim, mounted on my XP Pro after full adjustment on the XP Pro it was hitting 2 1/2 inches low. My firearm is currently at Fusion and I waiting on their results or comments.I'm aware it is shot show time so it may be a while.😂

Same, same. I'm thinking now! Especially, with the XP Pro having so much potential in the next several months. Ported, comped, modular grips, different trigger, etc. By the time you wait for the Platypus to get to you, you might be able to get an updated XP Pro for around the same price as the Platypus. With a comp or ported barrel and throw on a different grip. Plus, the finish on the XP Pro? And the Platypus hasn't released a steel version yet... Damn. I think the Platypus just got put on hold for me.

The Apollo 11 did not function at all for us and then we couldn’t get support from the company regarding the issue. So unfortunately, I can’t recommend that gun. The XP did really well for us and they have a solid team. That is just my experience though.

I think the XP Pro will have some options coming sooner than later - ported, comped, grip modules, lighter trigger, etc. Plus the coating is much better. By the time you trick out the Platypus, you're around $1900. I'm gonna guess a ported XP Pro with a better trigger will go for less. Just my humble opinion...
