I got my daughter a Wacom 16" in July. But this XP looks nicer. I like the short cut buttons. The Wacom does not have the short cut button, & did not come with any of the extra things the XP came with. Just the screen, pen, & the plug. No Adapters, or anything else. I thought it would have a free drawing app or something. But it does work very well. She loves it. She began with the little one that has no screen on it. You have to use your computer screen to see what you're doing. So now it's much easier for her to use. I would love to get my self one someday. TYFS

@@CODBlackOps6WALKTHROUGH My daughter loves it. The one I got her was the 16" for something like $700.00. It's not the pro, but the only difference I can see is it does not have the short cut buttons on the front. I spoke with someone who works for Disney & he said Wacom is what they use to make all the movies there. He has worked there for about 30 years & thinks Wacom is the best. Hope this helps. When you make the full review, please test cursor displacement when you tilt the pen. I don't mean the "tilt" functionality; i mean the offset of the cursor when you draw. This is important for drawing, as almost all of us draw with pen "tilted".

9:25 DRAWBACK: Glad you mentioned this minor but very important detail with drawing dots. I have encountered a similar behavior on the XP-PEN DECO PRO tablet. In my humble opinion, this is a really strange issue and limitation. Probably a combination of the pen construction and the driver. I think this is a real drawback if you need dots and stipples in your artwork. It also has a negative impact on navigation in the OSX finder/WIN desktop. Unfortunately I could not find a way to compensate it via driver settings. Hopefully this behavior can be fixed/improved by XP-PEN.

Looking forward to the full review. Yours are undoubtedly the best and more in depth ones! I don't think it will be possible for you, but a comparison between the Huion Kamvas Pro 13 and the XP-Pen Artist 13 pro would be marvelous. Specially focusing on the screen quality and the drawing precision. And if you had the chance to try out if the cables of the different companies are interchangeable that would be awesome. I would love to use Huion without the power brick. Using only the USB ports to power it.

Thank you for actually demonstrating the screen peel-off process. For some reason I was feeling anxious about removing the first film off, even with the Step 2 sticker telling me to take it off. Hahah. The label is confusing, because it doesn't explicitly say what "Step 1" is. Step 1 is to EXAMINE THE LABEL. And Step 2 is to peel off film #1.

Sorry if those are dumb questions, but I've learned a lot from you! :)

@sloppynyuszi5 жыл бұрын
Fang 1992 I don’t think it’s that obvious. It is considerably cheaper than similar sized iPad Pro. It lacks pinch zoom which I personally use, even on bigger tablets I use the touch screen to rotate canvas. Also not everyone carries their tablet around. So portability isn’t an issue. Desktop has more full free software that might be of consideration for someone on a budget. MediBang on desktop is more fully featured. You also have a more fully featured version of sketchbook pro that includes flipbook. Krita, Blender and Opentoonz are only available on desktop. For me personally I rather pay the extra money for an iPad Pro, and if you have a Mac in a couple of weeks you can run sidecar on it and it’s a desktop tablet too.

Not so critical for these smaller sized devices but I know for a fact MANY artists are just waiting and waiting and waiting for their 16" and up products to FINALLY move up to 4K. There's not much else that we want. Can i connect to a Chromebook
@teohyc Жыл бұрын
Depends on whether your chromebook can output video. Anyway, compatibility with Chromebook and Android is not good due to lack of driver.

Other than cost, I don’t understand why someone would want one of these. If someone is happy being connected to a computer, what are the advantages over something like a Wacom Cintiq? On the other hand, an Apple iPad has some excellent drawing software and never has to be connected to a computer. What am I missing? Thanks, Dan.

Dan Clark imho, once procreate gets a clone stamp, i wont need photoshop anymore. But thats not really a drawing feature- so for drawing/coloring alone ipad is doing pretty well so far.
@gilbunny90695 жыл бұрын
Its cheaper and (imo) better than the cintiq. iPad is limited in terms of size and software, while also being more expensive

It's for creating professional and complex 2D and 3D art. A desktop PC simply has much more processing power than an iPad (and for a much lower cost, too), and if you're working with sometimes hundreds of layers and/or complex brush textures, you'll need lots of that! Same when working with 3D objects/landscapes, perspective tools, drawing architecture, or when handling projects that have hundreds of pages (e.g. graphic novels). You can either spend lots of money on something that will slow down to a crawl when you do these things, doesn't support the industry standard software (Photoshop, zBrush, Blender, etc.), and doesn't even have enough harddrive space for your work - or you can spend a small amount of money on something that DOES support all this and has the hardware power to let you do all this fluently and quickly. Hope that helps make it clearer.

Cheaper than an ipad - also dont use an appy products so it wouldnt make sense to have a windows laptop, samsung phone and tablet then a random ipad? Also computers can handle wayyy more layers than an ipad can.
@s_mai89702 жыл бұрын
Cheaper. Don't know where you're from Dan but iPads here are expensive. And typically, people who are looking for these display pen tablets have already own a device be it a computer or a laptop. That's why people buy and that's why companies make these.
