It actually is Industrial by definition. What you are looking for is Industrial Rock or Industrial Metal which are actually subgenres of Industrial, which was developed originally using mechanical and electrial equipment to create sound (in the beginning) and then progressed to using synthesizers when available.

Though you are true, this is no longer industrial. The same as aggrotech and dark wave are not industrial as they have their own expressive name. If you want to be 'technical' this is all electronic/electronica because it is heavily influenced by synths and machinery.
