Interesting, I recently purchased a SolixG3 the mega DI and SI is superior to anything else, I was gearing up to head the Garmin route for my FFS for the same reasons, I might hang off and wait for the real world testing. Great information bro 👍

If there was more network compatibility between helix and xplore than what is expected that would be nice. Even an option to use a “black box” to have mega live work with helix units

Think I’ll be using Garmin on my next BassCat boat. Hummingbird just screwed over a lot guys that tournament fish and can’t afford to upgrade head units. That’ll cost thousands of $$$.

The Helix 12&15 is 1280x800 as well I believe

The new xpolre series will also have 15 different color palettes . 2 more than current version Helix. Detail from structure and fish is way better 80-100 ft vs the 40-60 that the current version ML1 had . New vp of Johnson Controlls was not going to release the new ML2 untill they had it perfect. The whole project was very detailed and product oriented in comparison to garmin lvs34 . Lots of other details that cant be disclosed right now but its very impressive and a way better product.

Seems odd that Humminbird would not at least advertise that Mega Live v2 is being released soon, before many people jump at Black Friday/ Holiday Garmin Livescope deals.

So if XPLORER a touch screen, with similar look and feel of a Solix and same resolution - why keep the Solix too? Perhaps moving to a two model lineup? For the mega live pricing, can't get too much higher than the competitors when Humminbird has been #3 for so long. With target lock it may be a consideration, but they have alot of market penetration to make up.

Garmin already has lake maps whereas you do not have to buy maps and zero line cards

Wow, that’s nice… thanks for sharing. I didn’t know that about Garmin. Maybe the XPLORE will have that option as well. I read somewhere in the video that it may have this ability as well.

Just another reason not to buy HB! My previous boat had Garmin 12’s and my new boat came rigged with Helix 12’s. Who ever designed the Helix is that same little Brat that gets on the elevator and pushes ALL the buttons! That’s all you do with a helix is push buttons! Absolutely despise these Helix units! #IMISSMYGARMINS!
