I doubt anyone is actually doing this for the sake of defending Disney of all companies. I think it's more so that people don't care about the race of the character changing and they noticed that some people are super up and arms about to change and act as if they truly deeply care.

I feel like the movies gonna suck, but the people who genuinely care about a company changing the race of a character will never not be weird to me. Like, not every lead character in media has to be white. Adding diversity into something that had a severe lack of diversity prior to its adaptation isn't an issue at all, and having diversity present isn't a ""woke"" move either.
