46:20 sure, but also the countries with the lowest relapse criminals have a rehabilitation system instead of just long and harsh sentences, if a lets say 20 y/o does a crime and gets a 10 year sentence and he then comes out of prison and tries to get a job but fails to do so due to his past mistakes he will most likely turn to crime because he "has no choice" , and another scenario is someone who believes that when they recieve a punishment like that their life is already over so no point in trying to reform. (a 20 year old isnt fully developed in the brain so someones aware of consequences and risks isnt fully developed) The best way is to have some sort of rehabilitation system to prevent relapse, America hasnt been able to recreate the same systems used in many countries in Europe, but longer and harsher sentences wont work.

Because we know how to manage our finances these kids don't. They'll also never become independents because instead of learning how to cook they'll just prefer to hang around the block doing donuts until they get arrested and spend in jail, by the time they come out they won't have practical skill or knowledge of how to be proper functioning members of society. That's one thing I find crazy about the newer generations (even my own generation, I'm 25); a surprising amount of people don't know how to cook. Like, straight up cooking. Cooking is survival requirement, if you don't know how to cook you're gg. You either have shit diet (fast-food will kill your body, your mind and your bank account as a young adult) or have to be dependent on moms cooking forever/a girl you're gonna knock up and ruin your future prospect for the sake of parenting your child. And for some reason younger people aren't waking up to this idea, they don't even try to learn.

It's just sad because if someone in my entourage was like this I would keep on providing for them, keep on being their "care taker" but ultimately that's the last thing they need, it's against their own interest. It's kind of like momma bears who are over protective to the point where they shelter their kids. They think it's good for the kids but it ends up obstructing their growth, they don't go through the experiences they have to in order to develop as young adults and learn the life lessons they need to learn. Isn't it also kind of manipulative in a way ? The kids will never be responsible because they have that one person who will constantly take over for them lacking, it would be difficult as a kid to not take advantage of that person, not because kids are morally wrong in general but because they lack a sense of awareness.

I will always advocate for a society built on trust, strong central culture, and shame. Yeah it can be overbearing sometimes in places like here in Japan but overall it’s worth it. When society sees you as literal garbage for becoming a criminal you get your act together or are removed from the equation as a whole so as not to ruin anything for anyone else. And in the meantime kids actually learn how to function properly and respect others. As a result I never have to watch my back anymore or worry about getting shot or have my shit stolen. Even if it does I’ll get it back quickly.
