First minute in and I know its gonna be interesting when the first thing X asks is how to turn the volume down and Poke tells to turn the master volume down.

@@xxx_epic_sniper_xxx2.021 the master volume controls the volume of every tracks volume, normally you never wanna do that instead you wanna turn down each tracks individual volume, that's the first thing you should learn properly when it comes to music production, it's called gain staging

@@xxx_epic_sniper_xxx2.021 Because everything in the track is set to the master volume and in a finished song you try to get everything close to -0 decibels. All the sounds in the said track is set by the mixer and that way you make a certain instrument sound louder or quieter. If you touch the master volume you have no idea how it actually sounds when you are mixing the track because its no longer -0 decibels. If something sounds loud you tune it down in the mixer, each instrument individually. Do not touch the master volume. I hope I explained it clear enough. Also I do think Poke is experienced, I was surprised when he told x to even touch the master volume.

@@xxx_epic_sniper_xxx2.021 Also its good practice to learn to use the mixer for everything and have everythin a bit more quiet than you are used to giving all the instrument more room to breath when in mastering you try to turn the sounds back up to -0 decibels. Start quiet with every instrument apart from maybe drums that usually have their own set decibels.

I think he just knows how to deal with computer programs. Tried to show some of my friends who know more about music than me how to use FL Studio, but they have a hard time because they don't work with computers a lot and can't find anything. He quickly finds the stuff he needs to find which is already a big step in the beginning.

@@amp4105 I've been making music for many years. When I first opened a DAW I had an even lesser idea of what was going on than he did. Beats I made weeks after using FL were objectively worse than what he made his first couple hours in. Even though FL is by far the most beginner friendly daw out there (so much so that the developers stated it wasn't even made the appeal to musicians) it can be really overwhelming if you've never used similar software or have any hint of music concepts.
