I have put some thought into this idea of whether you should tell people that you've seen someone scan for instance. One game, I decided not to tell for the same reason Dean voices (that the person who scanned will be a target), and the very next round I was killed, and the person I saw scan was voted off. If I had told everyone, he would have been cleared. I think the whole "not telling" is only valuable late game, when you can potentially ambush the impostors with information they didn't think existed when it's a tight vote between a few people. Imagine you're 4 people left and you know one scanned, say nothing, then the "other" person dies and you're left with impostor, scanner and you. It's a win.
