Benadryl doesn’t work the same for dogs. I’ve had to give my dogs Benadryl after they got bit by a snake. The dosage for dogs is way higher than people. I wonder if that is what the vet instructed or not

How would they check and make sure people don't do it? It would be too much work. And honestly I love pitbulls so I wouldn't want to see them go extinct. There should just be more strict laws when there is incidents with dogs in general. If you own a dog and it attacks someone you should be charged with assault and animal abuse for not training it. People would be more serious about training their dogs if there was real consequences to not doing it.

The reason you see more pitbull doing things like that is because they're usually cheaper than something like a husky or a shepherd so poor people will be more likely to have them and poor people tend to be less educated on top of having less free time and money to invest in training their dogs. Most pitbulls are purchased by people living in low income areas as guard dogs and they get treated like shit. Some people will even purposefully abuse them to make them more aggressive. You're not gonna see that with other breeds of dogs because they're usually purchased just to have an actual pet. Karen's husky in Beverly hills is not gonna be raised the same as Tyrone's pitbull in Compton. All breeds have the potential to be aggressive but pitbulls are more effective at doing serious damage because they were bred to fight but ultimately they're not more or less aggressive they just tend to be raised to be aggressive more often because of their image and the ease of access by poor people.

There's a mix of people blaming the owner or the dog. It's both. Don't get an aggressive breed if you can't train it or control it. Too many people get a breed of dog for the "style" while also thinking even though it's known to be an aggressive breed, that dog will be special and nice to them. Then they NEVER train the dog and then act surprised when the dog does something like this.

I used to do dog sitting and one time a client brought a pitbull because she wanted a break from it because she couldn't control it. The girl couldn't even get him to sit. I stayed with the dog for 3 days and thought him to sit and listen to a few commands. When the owner came back I tried to show her how to get the dog to listen but she was clearly not interested and kept acting like she's talking to a well behaved kid instead of a pitbull who needs to learn discipline. You don't get a pitbull then act like it's a small purse puppy.

I feel bad for the dog tho :/ ik it's super aggressive here but I genuinely think it was because of her (apparently) hitting the dog and then the added drug feeding would have possible made it even worse. Like the other lady was saying, she was literally patting it and giving it treats and it wasn't hostile but here it was just amped up and all the while being in the presence of the female dog which was likely his only objective while he was tweaking out. I feel as though it's so easy to look at him in this scenario and feel like he's a bloodthirsty dog that needs to be put down but I genuinely believe that there is enough evidence here to hold the owner 99% accountable for what the dog did. I wholeheartedly believe that if the dog was raised in a healthy (normal) household, that it would have been non-threatening to the public like this. But ig all this could be applied to humans as well idk it just makes me a bit sad even though I'm not a dog person, seeing all of this unfold :/
