Guy was a little bit off on the immigration court process. I’ve been working in an immigration law firm for years and asylum applicants have more than one court date. They are broken down into master and individual hearings. It’s not like you get detained and 4 years later you have your only hearing. no, you cant compare illegally immigrating to bank robbery. No, you cant compare immigrating from Canada to Mexico. You could be the nicest person in the world with no criminal activity or record, ever. but if you dont have the money your application wont even make it through. Even if it does, there is a high chance you wont be accepted unless you have money or top tier education, especially from countries with bad crime. I.E Mexico. So the process is basically impossible and it takes years even for the system to process the basic information.
