XR18/MR18 Virtual Soundcheck in 25 Minutes from scratch

I have made a virtual soundcheck from scratch on my Behringer XR18. You can follow all steps from start to finisch in realtime there are no cuts in the video. The tracks were recorded live with nice Telefunken Mikrophones so the input material is excellent. You can download the multitracks and more others from here:

Make sure in your DAW that the level on each channel is set to about -18dB otherwise the scene file will not work.

Ich nutze Ardour mit Linux. Ardour gibt es aber auch für Windows und Mac. Gegen eine Spende kann man die Software beziehen.

Sehr fein gezeigt. Ich habe beim MR 18 einmal einen Halleffekt in eine Übersteuerungsschleife geschickt (ohne das eine PA oder sonstige Speaker daran angeschlossen waren, nur mein Kopfhörer, dass es mir fast das Gehör rausgeschossen hat, diese Fehlfunktion der Software ist meines Wissens auch nach den Updates noch vorhanden, ist Euch das schon passiert??

Hello, when im recording on protools, it records without effects, how can i do to récord with effects from x air ?

You can only record the effects of each track like Gate, Compressor, EQ. This will be configured in the USB send section by selecting not Input but instead Pre Fader. If you are not using all 18 Channels you can also send an effect return to USB instead of 2 channels this is configurable in the USB send routing section. I hope this answer helps.

how do you switch over from this to the live inputs for the show?

In XaAIR Edit got to the IN/OUT section > Click on USB RETURNS > Then click the button OFF ANALOG. This is all it takes to switch USB inputs off and revert to analog inputs. Now you need to make sure that your analog input gains match your USB input gains.

@@thomasziegler2303someone suggested setting the analog gain meters and make a snippet. Do the VSC, switch back to analog and recall the snippet.

@@terrytarpening9456 In X-Air Edit the analog gain level is kept when you switch to USB and back to analog. Same is valid for USB.
