XR650L New Lexx Exhaust

Removing the "LOUD" FMF Power Core and replacing it with a buttery smooth Lexx Exhaust Muffler USFS Spark Arrestor. I can finally enjoy riding the Big Red Potato (XR650L) without the annoying sound of the FMF.

Morning VW! Great tips on the muffler install. I was looking at the Lexx muffler for my DR. I went with the Yoshimura RS2 and I like it a lot. The only downside is it has to be repacked ever so often. Glad the sound levels were much better. I have heard the FMF was louder by a lot. Looking forward to the update video! Cheers!

Top of the morning DOC 650, Glad the Yosh is treating you well, I'm just thrilled for the first time the bike muffler is finally right. Came with a DG = Loud! Went to stock = Slow turd! FMF = Loud again!? Lexx = El Perfection!! Repacking not so bad and it is not as often as one may think. Love the GSXR muff on the DR650 the best! No packing & nice sound, I only wish ProCycle offered a mid-pipe kit for the XR650 & KLR650. Good to hear from you.

I've always been impressed with Lexx exhausts. Had them on a couple bikes now..good quality and can't beat the price.

I only have a short history with the Lexx exhaust, but I really like the one that came on my KLR650. I like how they can be made quieter or louder depending on your needs, and the quality is as good as anyone's.

One of the best upgrades I have done on the XR. The Red Potato finally has a nice tone without being too loud or embarrassing around non-bikers like the FMF was. Power seems about the same. I rode over 200 miles with it and first time my ears were not ringing when I got home, and I always were ear plugs.

I just fitted an NX650 full dual exhaust onto my xr650l simply for aesthetic reasons, sounds great tho

That would sure give the bike a cool updated look. I know some of the newer Honda MX bikes had a split muffler system on them that looked cool

Hey Andrew … I really like the sound of the Lexx, and the tune ability to make it louder or quieter than stock. My favorite pipe for the DR650 is the GXSR with the ProCycle mid pipe. Lexx is right up there though, and probably cheaper and easier. I hope you get some breaks in the weather and can get out. Take care

@@randomlyTrees Hey again RT, the GSXR I used was the 35F0 muffler. I liked that it mounted with 4 nuts at the mid pipe, not 3 nuts and you don’t need a strap to hold it, you just elongate the stock mounting bracket hole and it looks more factory no strap.

Best exhaust for these machines is the XRs only exhaust. It's one unit (no mid pipe). The megaphone design in that exhaust is so good. Just don't buy their header, keep the oem or fmf power bomb header.

Hi Frank, no leaks yet, If I had to do over again, I would have cut the slits in the pipe before installing the first time, I was too excited in putting on the muffler. At some point in the near future, I will remove the Lexx and put slits in the mid pipe. Thank you.

LEXX was working fine, I sold the XR650L, but still have a LEXX on my KLR650 that has double the miles of what the XR had. LEXX great value. FMF is already sold.

@@royvinator7038 they do that. I bought one because it was a cheap fixer upper and rode it all around AZ. The one I have now that replaced the first one has been to all the surrounding states and heading to Utah in the future. They grow on you for sure.

Ive got a Pro Curcuit T4 on mine little on the loud side id say. Looking to clean it up new packing and seal off some small leaks 👍🏼

Hi, I had a T4 on my first KLR and it was louder than the Lexx but not as horrible as the FMF. A repack and re-seal should help a lot.

@@verbalwidget7267 i bought a generic motorcycle silencer from amazon ristricted way to much. Used a cut of wheel made an X at thr end and peaned it open a little just right 👍🏼 quiet with a mild thump

Was this set up for a klr? Everything is out of stock and was wondering if the lexx exhaust and midpipe for the klr is what you used on the xr?

Hi Joe, The Lexx here is made for the XR650L only. They were out when I tried to order too but I put my name on the “notify when back in stock” list and about 2 weeks later I got the email the the muffler was in and if I still wanted it? Of course I picked it up right away. The Lexx on my KLR is different and was on the bike when I bought it. Thanks.

The guy who previously owned my KLR650 lived in Oceanside, CA. He bought a Lexx for the KLR but had it shipped to a friends place in Lake Havasu, AZ avoiding the muffler police. Good to hear from you.
