Come to AZ. Starting pay x-ray techs $27-$30 and goes up with the different modalities. It really just depends where you live.

Indeed. Thanks for sharing that sir

It is very dependent on what state you are in. States like Georgia with non licensure cannot compare to California. I do agree we need to know our worth and we should be paid more.

El paso texas is one of the lowest paying cities in texas. I keep a close eye on salaries and people share them in my comments. In el paso, starting is 24 an hour. Usually comes with a retention bonus if you stay over a year. Theres always a hospital that pays more. Peoppe follow the money. Also dont aspire to only do xray. Make sure you crops train into xray, mammo, ct, or mri. They pay double or triple xray. One of my friends is 24 years old and she gets $61 and hour to do mammo.

How is it possible to land $30 an hour starting, straight out of rad tech school? I know that area, qualifications, and demand are big factors when it comes to determining the starting salary for radiologic technologists.
@PhDTracyWalker Жыл бұрын
Easy Inflation. Sounds like you want wages to remain the same from 20 years ago. It should have been the starting costs. You should pay close attention to nursing salary increases. Somehow their salary and respect increases. But no one elses does. Im an expert on how much insurance pays per exam for xrays, ct's, and mri exams. Prices have increased, meanwhile you want wages to remain the same. Payors and hospitals win. Meanwhile the techs lose. Pretty soon minimum wage is gonna catch up to vocational skilled salaries. Truck driving school is a few weeks long. They already make $50 bucks an hour. I learn real peoples salaries via the comments in my other videos

Bruh Tracy hope all is well and good w the family. Two things I meant to ask how’s living in El Paso currently rn because of the border situation I thought of you when I seen the news so I was just curious…. And second I almost messed up big time man so I’m taking my pre reqs at the community college to transfer to a university for two years and I found another community college that offers the program directly none of the schools pointed me in the direction smh glad you gave me the information and motivated me Tracy hope all is well

Thansk for keeping up with me slick. El paso is fine. The biggest problem with el pasp is the Californians moving here cuz their cost of living is too high. It caused our prices to nearly double. Everything got expensive here. Besides that just downtown is messed because of the border crisis. Since the border is downtown. Everything is else is good

I have an associates in business administration and I’m a certified medical assistant and I’m now thinking about going to school for X-ray tech what school do you recommend in NJ/PA?im looking into Jefferson but they are saying I have to take pre requisites and for me to get a bachelors
@PhDTracyWalker Жыл бұрын
No need for a bachelors at all. Xray is a 2 year program everywhere. Better yet. Getting a bachelors would be useless. A bachelors in physics, chemisty, or any kind of premed degree would be useful if later you decided to become a medical doctor. Bachelors degrees are useless. They do nothing for you. You wont get extra pay either for having a bachelor's coupled with your xray license. The certificate/license is the useful part. Youve seen it with your own two eyes. You are a certified MA. That gets you a job. An associates in business does not. Therefore the the certification in MA pays more than an associates. Get it? Here's more evidence. I hope you can follow. Lets say you graduate from an xray school. You earn an associates in some sort of applied science when you graduate. They had you a diploma. Tye diploma is useless. You need to take the test to become certified/registered. With this certification, you can then get a job. Therefore the certification holds the value. The diploma does not. So happen, you need a diploma to be able to even take the test. See the scam? I know nothing of new jersey or PA. Hopefully someone in the comments can help.

Hey Tracy. I am going into my Third year of undergrad in order to get my bachelors in kinesiology pre-physical therapy. I am not sure if I want to become a physical therapist anymore due to the debt to income ratio and this career caught my eye. I know I am for sure going to finish out this bachelors degree and I want to know what I should do after getting the bachelors in order to get into this career field. I feel really lost considering I chose a degree that has no career options except grad school. Thankfully I will have no debt after getting this bachelors.
@PhDTracyWalker Жыл бұрын
The bachelors in KIN is useless. Im sure you know that by now. However uou should finish it up. Especially if you already passed anotomy and physical at a university level
@PhDTracyWalker Жыл бұрын
This way, if you change your mind about becoming a doctor in the future, you can just enroll and start. Good thing about having a bachelors already after you complete, it will pay off because you'll be front loaded into any xray or ultrasound school of your choice over the other candidates. Having succeeded in the past will help you get chosen

hey tracy, i'm currently taking classes at my community college to become an x-ray tech, will these salaries still applicable if i only have an associates degree or will i be making less? I'm worried that I won't be making as much as i hope when i start out. Also what would the estimated salary be for someone certified in both MRI and x-ray imaging now with inflation making everything more expensive?
@PhDTracyWalker Жыл бұрын
The associates means nothing. Its worthless. So is a bachelors in most fields. What matter is the certification you get once you take the test and become a registered tech. I want you to remember that. Diplomas are useless. Certifications have all the value. Only reason why nurses, doctors, truck drivers, barbars , and Teachers get jobs and get money is because they took a test get the liscense/registered. Get it? A diploma in history gets no job, a diploma in womans health or social justice gets no job. Those people work at home depot.
@PhDTracyWalker Жыл бұрын
You also dont get paid extra unless you do both. In that case you should demand extra. If you are registered in both, but only get hired to do mri, they dont need to pay you extra.

Hey Tracy, I’m in El Paso and I’ll be graduating from my Radiology Program this year in October. I’ve been doing my clinical rotations at UMC, Las Palmas, Southwest, Desert Imaging, etc. My question to you is do you recommend traveling or should I stay local and try to work here?

Hey Tracy, I am starting my clinicals in MRI starting next month and I wanted to say thank you for opening up my eyes in this field. However, I was wondering what MRI salaries are in Tennessee as I think I want to leave California. In California most of the class from last year was making way over 100k+

Yes California techs get paid alot. However its better to take a pay cut to live in a more affordable state. Greed went too far in California. The problem with greed is that it only goes up

Hey Tracy thanks for the insight. My local college offers that 2 year program for associates. My question is, is it worth doing the schooling and waiting since there’s a waitlist to join and do you only have to get your associates and then get certified?
@PhDTracyWalker Жыл бұрын
Exactly you only need an associates in the field of Radiology to be able to take the test. Its definitely worth the wait. Meanwhile, you can take courses towards the program. This career pays more than a masters. Im getting a PhD because mri and CT pays more than my masters.
