the Fisher 202 r was a very good Tuner I have worked on a few they look overly complex and in deed they are not every part of the signal is amplified and produces a very clean sound they were built in the mid 1960 i be-leave this should be Fun to watch

This is great. I have one of those sitting in it's factory box and stored away. It was given to me almost forty years ago and I haven't pulled it out to check it out. I also have it's companion integrated amp too. I should pull both out to clean them up and do any repairs needed.

Great as usual Tony. I'm just starting getting into tuner world(maybe it's too late but who cares) so videos of tuner/receiver alignment are always welcomed. I recently got myself finally philips pm5326, nothing digital in there except display so if something goes wrong it should be easy to fix. I was thinking to get some HP,Marconi,R&S but those are pretty complicated so repair/troubleshooting could become a rabbit hole for me.

Any project from you is great adventure for us, the viewers. Like you I wish you health and happines. I have an old Pionner valve receiver probaly from the same era it has two differnt tuners one has FM and AM and one AM ans SW like the one from the video it has diffent outputs volume ans tuning.

Great video, this gives me more confidence to open up my Sansui TUX1 tuner and try to align it, if I can find a schematic…

Very thorough, I would have ordered a fake "nos" tube on ebay before finding it was the socket after zapping myself a few times!

The pre-Zenith/GE FM Multiplex system was called Simulcast Stereo. Which did use an AM and FM signal to make Stereo.

😂 Scary! How did you know I wanted an alignment? The only thing that could have made this better is cap replacement.

He's using a dental brush for between teeth. They come in various thickness. My dentist says my teeth and gums are the best they've ever been!

I think the material on these tube sockets is called high temperature phenolic resin.

Can you imagine the original owner talking his wife into buying this tuner, and then he was going to spend more money on an Amp! Probably lived in Manhattan.
