I did order the XREAL Air 2 Pro's out of sheer curiosity for use as a wearable oled monitor for PC gaming. I feel like the XREAL Beam device is a shady money grab though.. The ability to have a stationary screen should NOT be only available if you pony up an extra $120. The Nebula for Windows software needs to have this feature too. I would maybe consider the extra purchase but the Beam device has major drawbacks. No 120hz mode and introduces massive input lag. So not realy worth it to me. The Pro version of these glasses is already $450. So currently, it will cost you a crazy $620 to have that one feature that a lot of people will likely want and use regularly. Don't get me wrong I think the tech is cool but definitely the holding back of what should be standard features is concerning.

I am pretty much planning next time i get a phone with Display Out i would get something like this for it but.. :/ The customizations the beam gives would come good.. but i ain't paying that much bruh I'll be better with a monitor at that point-

The only issue with these glasses, that I saw in the video, is it looks like you are watching something. People will think you're staring, or maybe looking like you are trying to fart. I think everyone gets that haze around the edge. It's because the screens are so close to the eyes and it is harder for the eyes to focus on it, and the periperal vision is used as part of the image, and creates that haze.

I really hope that XREAL is working on a BEAM device capable of 1080p or higher versus the current 480p. Cutting the resolution in half to use the BEAM device is quite a compromise.

Did you only get 60hz when connecting to your main PC becuase of some bottlneck on the Beam? is it possible to get an HDMI cable to USB type C cord and plug the Xreal AIr 2 pro directly into GPU of a full desktop PC?

Yes the Beam limits the refresh rate to 72Hz and introduces input lag. Unfortunately, you can’t cut out the middleman and connect directly to HDMI because HDMI doesn’t provide enough power for any display, including the Air. Your best bet would be USB C to USB C connections for powering the Air, and taking full advantage of the display specs.

I saw a post on the xreal community page, and it said it was tested with the beam and got 120hz. The official hdmi to usb c that xreal sells, however, is only 60 hz for some reason I'm pretty sure the only way to get 120 hz is to find an hdmi in to usb c out that supports 1080 120, and get a 12phz usb c

I would highly recommend the originals! Not only cheaper but bigger screen while being a bit heavier, but just a few grams. The electromagnetic shading is really cool, but not worth 150 bucks more

I'll add to that... The originals are also micro-OLED and you can set them up for 120hz.

The originals have the same 46 FOV, a much less comfortable fit, the screen doesn't get as bright and the audio is noticeably worse. Definitely worth spending the extra $100 on the 2's, or $150 extra if you want the dimming.

You connect it via USB-C (or using another cable like HDMI to USB-C for example) directly to the graphics card and it'll work with 120Hz if your graphics card / the cable you use supports the high refresh rate

Do you have performance issues ? If yes, maybe yes, background processes can be the cause. If not, that's not a problem whatsoever. For GPU temperature, it depends of the GPU, the cooling solution and fan curve. But let's say that, if your GPU isn't going like 83-85 degrees, same as before, not a problem performance wise.
