I dropped coin on 2 XS batteries about 3yrs ago. They lasted 1 yr. Mind you my truck is a diesel. No amps or linear amps. All I run is 100 watt ham multi band ham radio. I'm on my 2nd set of batteries now, and 1.5yr in they are sluggish. I used to run sears diehard. Ive got 1 in my jeep that is 10yrs old and still kickn. Not throwing shade, I just hate throwing money at a product that hasn't performed to even their warranty date.

Something to consider. Float resting voltage on a battery bank of 4 or more seems to sit a touch higher than a single battery by itself. That's better for this that will rest at 13v. According to your vid. Resting voltage is an issue when mixing these to lead acid as you pointed out. 👍
@Z28videogatesАй бұрын
Most cars don't do enough volts to charge a LiFePO4 so you should have a DC to DC charger (safer too, this is what the RV'ers do) - therefore the battery and amp would be isolated so I'd recommend demonstrating the 16 pill on battery alone (or with charger connected) but not in parallel with your big power supply. For 4,5,8 pills you can use a 100A BMS LiFePO4 battery ($200) or a 12 or 16 pill (200A BMS)$400 (the BMS is continuous amps, they also do 500A for

This might be good under the bench mostly for a GMRS repeater but occasionally... have some things on the bench that draw a little more from time to time. Might also work replacing the 12 volt lead acid in a UPS to kinda supercharge it.

Do you have to take it out if circuit to FULLY charge after playing hard with it? On a 👉13.9👈 volt alternator. Nobody considers that you really should do a regular "maintenance" charge on lithiums. Let it set and fully slow charge occasionally. But do you have to disconnect it from your lead acid to accomplish this required maintenance charge?

I'm putting together a 5k system already have 320 amp JS Alternator. Spoke to (2) XS Power reps (Shawn) recommended the Xmax 67 because of my alternator. I've looked at the stats(Xmax 67)and it's 15K+ watts and I'd ask where's the extra power going?. The Xmax 67 would be perfect with Taramps Smart 5K

@@GLO_187 due to these batteries are meant for stand alone purposes and is meant to supplement higher draws to a vehicles electrical system. I am speaking from a personal opinion and think that if you need a bigger supply of power the x90 can cover it all on its own. Plus the x90 is just sexy and those titans are just ugly to me.

This battery is clearly designed to run off any 12v charging system and is a stand alone battery reserve. You would not need to do anything more than to run the proper wires from your alternator to this battery.

You know if you only charge these batteries to about 80-85% you would double their overall life expectancy.
@BoxBuilderIdahoАй бұрын
@@KaylansDrone it's not the charge rate to 100% full that we count it's the discharge rate down to 30% or lower that we count Sophie can you utilize the battery and keep the charge above let's say 60 or 70% it dramatically increases the life of the battery. Think about it. If you keep your cell phone above 25% your cell phone battery lasts you a whole lot longer than if you run it to complete depletion over and over and over again. Same thing
@KaylansDroneАй бұрын
@@BoxBuilderIdaho I suppose. According to 3 years of data collected by an app called accubattery on my cellphone, its not so much the discharge level, as it is the recharge level that most affects the capacity of the battery over time. At least to say its the last 20 % or so of charge that causes the most wear. Not to argue that discharging to depletion wouldn't make a difference, its just that in most applications, you want charge life as well as overall life. So going to 80% and almost completely depleting would get you the best of both worlds. Although i suppose in a car, you're going to set at pretty much full capacity unless you tinker with the alternators voltage regulator. And even then, if you want to run big amps with the ignition off for a while and still want your car to start afterward, you're going to keep as much charge as possible in the battery.
