Xsens, would it work okay if we made a custom spandex with pockets n put the sensors in them for awinda? The xsens suit is double the price of awinda so was wondering if we can make awinda work similarly with a custom tight suit with pockets in them..for really acrobatic shots. :)
@MovellaInc5 жыл бұрын
@@freenomon2466 The suit has tethered sensors in it for higher update rates. It's really a different kind of system with also extra features like GPS and On-Body recording.

This is impressive, Ron. I'm still shopping around for solutions and this is EXTREMELY clean looking data. I'll probably buy the lower cost suits first to get an idea of how to use the equipment (and do some REAL acting in it) before looking at solutions like this one.

Hey, you should do Xsens vs Perception neuron Studio which costs $6000 and has good magnetic resistance

You can actually do height tracking with the live engine as well, you just have to switch the 'single level' scenario to the 'multi level'. Besides that, the trackers sample at 1000Hz instead of 60Hz ;-) The output data is send at 60Hz but is downsized with a Strap Down Integration maintaining almost the same accuracy as the 1000Hz. Regarding the size of the shirt; they come in different sizes and need to be 'tight' in order to prevent a similar effect as skin artifacts.

I have tried both Rokoko and Awinda, and to be honest they both are the same, they both need a heavy clean up, but i dont see what more u will get for a extra 5000k$, i dont think its really worth it

Do I need to buy a subscription in order to use this in Maya or Blender? Please respond
@RonDucats34 жыл бұрын
You must use their software for the suit to work and record anything. Maya is 1800 a year. Blender is free. You need the Pro Xsens software in order for the suit to live stream in any program. First year is free pro.

Hey, Ron! Great review. I was wondering if I can pick your brain a bit about the Awinda. Have you experienced any dropped frames? Would you say that it's suitable for real-time applications? How bad is the jitter? Thanks!
@RonDucats34 жыл бұрын
No dropped frames, but the running can look a little stiff and my data once did fly away being unusable. It is pretty decent for real time use, and you probably wont get anything better for the price, my only error in real time is my pelvis slides. Its not impractical. It just doesnt look great.

You still think this suit is relevant? I've seen a lot of Ai sights popping up and I know they have their limitations but I've heard pretty bad things about the Rokoko suits and I've actually been given some mocap animations before that were just so bad they were unusable. I can only assume they were made with a Rokoko suit....$7k+ for an inertial suit is quite a bit but the next best thing I know of uses overpriced cameras that cost about $7k a piece and I think your supposed to have like half a dozen of them or something. I'm not sure why a 12 mp camera would cost $7k lol it makes absolutely no sense to me. If I'm going to be honest I would be afraid to spend more then $1k for anything that uses Intertia as the driving force.
@RonDucats3 Жыл бұрын
They're 3.8k now which is nice. $270 I think for a month to month plan unlimited mocap rendering
