XSM ‘Alpine’. A short film now on our Patreon. Featuring XSM using specialized rock climbing gear to propel himself down the side of a building and paint his three letter. This approach to bombing is one not often taken, however in recent years has become the method of choice for XSM. Using rock climbing gear originally designed for Alpine climbing where the aim is to reach the summit of a mountain, XSM is able to scale buildings and paint spots that would otherwise be physically impossible. ‘Alpine’ explores the process of adapting rock climbing gear from the mountainsides of the wilderness to the urban city scape of downtown New York. This short film also includes XSM speaking about how he learned to do this, where the idea originally came from, the process, fears, dangers and more. Full video available exclusively via our Patreon.

Elms BTH revolutionized and crushed with this method. His like biblography magazine he made a super limited number of talks about it and is super dope. Lucky enough to get hooked up with number 10/10 signed out to me. I remember when silencer had ground level and average billboard height in SF on lock and anything above that or considered low air space, Elms took care of. Can't forget about Gufe. Bless The Hood got down 2008 couldn't miss em

@@liamfrankel8314 he released a second set of 10 more a few months later. He wanted it to be super exclusive. First come first serve. It's full magazine size. Full color high quality. He worked on it with some graphic designers for like a year + it has stories written by him about some of his biggest spots or close calls etc and pictures. Comment on one of my vids if you wanna talk more. I still have my copy and original hand done 228 and eggshell stickers from him. I think I still have a Keychain of a rocket ship he made too. It seemed like it was kind of like his personal closure to graff, since he retired.

The mystery is never really as complicated as it seems.. of course until you see it.. Big box letters above reaching height on ground level are obviously done with super-extended rollers.. as an example.. but when I see someone up on a seemingly impossible spot like this-with stylized letters- there’s only one way that crosses my mind.

@@gavinorazapata8184 I used a super extender then rigged a can holder with pull string to reach floaters up to 30+ feet then jetpacks became the standard right after. I thought I was going to be so cool. In reality I'm lugging around a giant pole unwrapping string setting shit up letting it stick out my car window when everyone else just bloops up there.

@@Bokertko hahaha I feel you. A time or two I’ve seen peeps rig up some sort of extra long arm with a can up top to still show some style that a roller piece doesn’t. But hey whether you’re early or late to that concept.. props to you for using what you can to get up there lol

Unfortunately it’s already happened, more than a few times. Get training specific to Rock Climbing, learn to fix ropes and set bombproof anchors. When rappelling always have a backup and tie off the rope below you as a final back up, again can’t stress it enough…..find a climbing guide or get to know a climber who has a wealth of experience.

@@caseybald5482 yep, you got to go the climbing approach to learning ropework, either a guide or if your lucky and experienced climber willing to teach you everything

there was a youtube video of a well known death, a dude tried to repel down a building to do graff, but he used a certain type of hook that wrapped around his body and it actually tightened him so bad that he passed out and died up there, he used like an oldschool method but did it improperly, it doesn't require any gear just a rope.
