Remember back when games were released physically and you couldn't patch them or update them, you just had to have a finished game. I wish we could get back to that.

That requirement is there to charge more for content they've already made but can lock behind a paywall. Then, they can remove features or move onto the next title and drop support for the game. Suddenly, you can't play that game anymore, because the servers are down. It is absolutely the wrong way modern games should be moving. It works the same for streaming services of other media. We should be in arms that the product we thought we were paying for and owning could just be removed at any moment. Unfortunately, this has already been happening. So, AC EVO won't be getting my money for this reason. (If buying isn't owning, then piracy isn't stealing 😌)

Literally the same words that people use to describe almost every single racing game that comes out the past few years. "it has potential". Sure everything does but that doesn't mean it'll necessarily be realized. At least they're being open enough to launch the game in early access stage and publically admit it's not finished yet. Regardless, it's a massive bummer that nowadays we can't just enjoy a racing game but instead we have to wait 1-3 years until it's actually somewhat completed. Please don't be that person who believes in unicorns, judge games based on what you see now, and not on what they might/ might not become at some point.

I got an RTX 3080 and play the game in VR on a valve index at native resolution. While I may not run at the 120fps consistently, it runs more than smooth enough to enjoy the game and still have high clarity and fidelity. That being said, there's definitely some optimization that needs to be done and some graphical glitches that have to be sorted but for an early access release at version 0.1 it's a super solid start and I'm super excited to see how the game evolves over the coming months

AC only became the best because all the simracing modders adopted it as their platform of choice. ACE will never have open modding because the game files are encrypted, so modders will never be able to bring ACE to relevance. ACC was good, but AC barebones? If thats the level Kunos can reach for this sort of game, then we are stuffed.

One big thing is theres a memory leak happening to a lot of people. When I checked Task Manager while playing my GPU was at 1-2% utilization and it was copying files over. Runs fine but I think the graphics and performance will get significantly better with more options

Regarding the performance based on your GPU, i think its important to say that you dont have to have a 4090. Also that your PC wont necessarily struggle if it isnt a 4090. It's more a case that it *might* struggle if running ultra settings, 34 cars and dynamic weather. Ahainight struggle, not definitely will struggle! In fact, it probably wont struggle, the game runs pretty well i think.

Biggest problem with dynamic weather is how quickly the rain comes on. In real life it normally rains lightly before getting more heavy. What I’ve noticed is that EVERY time it rains it gets extremely heavy within the space of a few seconds.

I’m on a R5 3600 CPU and a RX 5700 XT GPU. The game crashed multiple times in a row, and after dropping everything to the lowest settings, I could get in the game. But it stuttered so bad that I had to just return it. I’m really looking forward to the 1.0 version, though

@ I'm hearing from folks with lesser gpu's than mine getting usable performance, but also others with the same or higher specs getting less performance. 🤷‍♂ So i think it's poor optimisation of certain gpu's from the game at this early stage rather than it being the case that my gpu just isn't powerful enough. I feel pretty confident that the devs will smooth this out reasonably quickly and we'll both be able to run the game soon but we're probably better holding off until they've ironed some of this stuff out.

To me, when wanting a simracer thats not all hardcore but has good graphics, content and a small career I still hop in Project Cars 2 from time to time. Its clear that EVO wont be a hardcore sim and thats fine with me, they could steer even more in that direction with inserting more content like a small career. The Open World gets hyped a bit much but its nice that it is being developed with that in mind. Driving the Shutoku mod in this game witch added features could be on another level :) I dropped Assetto last year as I didnt find much purpose in just racing or aimlessly driving in Open Worlds that felt empty. The AI should be better, not everyone plays Online all the time. Them playing bumper cars like FM8 is not acceptable...

I went in expecting terrible performance based on a lot of comments online, but the game maintained a consistent 110 FPS on Ultra 1440p (with DLSS), no crashses and no stuttering. Only issue was the menus were a bit laggy sometimes and the car textures took a second or two to load in the menu. This is on a 7800x3d, 4070 ti super.

That's a mid tier card and the performance was absolutely acceptable and even good for a full title nevermind an early access. People need to get over the fact that this game is just not gonna run on your grandmas 1050ti anymore.

the menu lag is something that i noticed too it's the actual animations in the engine lagging the game itself maintains stable 60fps but the animations play at a lower framerate for some reason after a while of playing on day 1, i alt f4d the game and opened it again or something, and the menus were super smooth, but now they're back to lagging think it's normal

Driving the cars felt sollid but to easy, i noticed that with the AMG GT2 it didn't feel like challenging to drive what makes it kinda boring. In ACC I had races where i was sweating because i was really pushing the car and was really a challenge to pull someting off where in EVO it allow's me to push to easily without any punishment. I hope along the way it will improve so you have a more clear difference between normal road cars and full on race cars.

Sounds like the ai is like some of the older gran Turismo titles. The AI there has often been described as robotic that just rides a line. As far as graphics go, it looks really nice! I couldn’t imagine trying to optimize everything for 120FPS ahahah Nurburgring *open world*? That’s really cool - I’ve been looking for something like that for awhile!

Alot of sim titles use a lot of cores I switched from a 5600x to a 5900x and a lot of the sim titles I play had a massive increase in performance with doubling the cores of the CPU. Using a 3090 with a 5900x and 4070ti super with the 5800x3d on both PC and get easily 200 fps on most titles in 4k. But 1440 seems to be the sweet spot in my scenario.

Mine were detected as Simagic but they were inverted and wouldn't change back to non inverted. That was the primary issue I had with setup.

Finally someone with a good take. And finally someone that's literate enough to understand what "early access" means. Almost every single game in history starts off roughly, whether it's a full launch, or just an early access release. I work in software dev, and it is always like this, with any kind of product. You need users to test the products limits, so that flaws can be found and ironed out. You obviously have testers inside of a company before a product is launched, but even then, nobody can be as unpredictable as the users themselves. I think Kunos is doing a good job, and I find it really sad that people review-bombed the game already. The community is filled with little kids that want everything perfect today, right now. Crybabies.

Please do a video on your experience with Simagic setup with sigma cortex for GT7 vs Fanatec you had before

I’m sure it will be a great game, but right now it’s AC1 (with the same flaws and goods) with always online (why?) and encrypted file structure which raises big concerns about modding. Wasn’t expecting it to be a revolution or goat in EA, but I also wasn’t expecting a reskin with same core problems

Yeah but my crappy PC (Ryzen 5 5600x + RTX3070ti) has no problem getting me the 120 FPS that my monitor is capable of with og AC. With AC evo I cannot achieve anything remotely usable, I'm averaging like 30 FPS even with all graphics settings to the lowest possible. I understand my PC is crappy old now and needs upgraded but I still expected to be able to run this sim with everything set to minimal. Do you think I was unreasonable to expect my PC to run this and do you think it can be addressed with graphic driver updates / software tweaks as we go ? If not then I think the userbase is gonna be pretty limited to those with all the latest and greatest swag. I think that's a big drawback if your goal is to sell to a large customer base.

Not really always online, Online portion is there for leader boards and shit. Well that's what I think at least.

​@johnreilly4722 Dude there's literally nothing wrong with your setup. The 5600x is still the best price to performance cpus on the market and the 3070ti is literally just one generation old. If you're getting poor performance I'd nearly 100% bet on it being poor optimization of the game, and given that's its very early access this would not surprise me.

Just wanted to point out, those "liveries" actually have different drive models. Some are AT or MT, some have both ABS and TC or some only has one or none. if you read the description of the cars with different liveries, it'll tell you what type of transmission and assist it has.

I'm asking, because I like simulators and sicades very much, but I have a gaming laptop and I'd like sometimes jump into the game, play around for 30 minutes to 1 hour without setting up wheel and renovating my office for that.

I have a 2060 with a 1440p monitor and the game is not playable if it is not on the lowest settings plus some FSR. Every time I try to put the gam in 1080p it crashes. It looks very very bad on this settings, way worse than the AC and I barely get 40fps in practice. I am very disappointed with the state of the game as of right now

2060 is a decent card for 1080p high settings in most games. Evo needs a lot of optimization,

Theres questions that need to be asked: 1. Why would anybody, aside from people supporting it, play this over almost any other racing game? Early Access is fine for some games but its not for racing games. Not when there are beautiful and finished games on the market already. 2. Is Super GT gonna choose ACE over GT7? Its nice and refreshing to get a new era of racing games. But that doesnt look like its gonna be it. 80% of this is either missing or needs work. Youre gonna struggle releasing this game while ppl go back to GT, ACC, F1 or iRacing. That said if we look at a game release at the end of this year then thats something we can focus on and hope its gonna be good enough to compete.

First, I want to support the devs. Secondly I want to experience the new Sim from Kunos and lastly there's nothing like ACE at the moment. Sure, lots of more polished and different Sims, but non like this one. I can see that for some, like you, it doesn't make sense. But everyone's different.

Sure its not Playstation only like GT7 or has paid subscription like iRacing but apart from that I dont see what changes compared to these games. Could you explain what you meant by that?

@ It's simply about the feel. You are correct that there are many better options in most areas. But nothing feels as good as ACE. That said I really hate, and I knew this would happen, that we won't get mod support. So ultimately we might have to stick to AC1 forever :/ But if ACE gets more content it might become the ultimate SIM. We have to wait and see.

@@thomasfioramonti2438 and what I meant with that was posted in the first few sentences: ...EA is not good for a racing game. Its a win/win for most devs and the best example was Playerunknowns Battlegrounds. BR games peaked at this point and everybody played it. They made a proper game out of this and sold enough copies to invest into it. ACE on the other hand can only hope for the amount of supporters to be high enough if they need the financial support to finish the game, or finish it on schedule. If they dont need money then they might have done it for the players to see how far development has come so far or they want people to 'playtest' their game and fix bugs you might say. But you dont need EA for that since Alpha or Beta would be enough. Money is a big factor also indicated by the more expensive pricetag compared to other EA games. They have competition and thats the issue here. Giving us EA with the game 20% finished is not gonna convince a lot of people to leave their game and play against massively undertuned AI in single player.

It’s nice for what it is. The driving experience reminds me alot of iRacing in the way the cars feel raw and mechanical. The ai is still atrocious and completely drive into and have no semblance of spatial awareness but, id recommend it if you believe you can enjoy yourself with the very limited content it currently has. I’ve already spent countless hours just throwing around the AMG GT2 in Bathurst and it has to be one of the most fun experiences i’ve had in a racing game in quite a while. Kunos does say all the content we get from EA to 1.0 we get for free so 🤷

Let’s be honest. This game is never meant to be a gt realism no matter how hard they try. We just needed an updated engine with better graphics. Now the game is set for the next 10 years worth of mods 😂

Question for all! What gpu do yall have and how many frames are you getting. I have a 32 inch ultra wide in 1080 and my gtx 1080 is beginning to struggle (60 fps max)

On single screens it seems to run quite alright, but on triples it’s not great. I have a 4080super running triples 1440p. No matter what graphics setting I use I get higher than 65fps and it often dips when multiple cars are on track. Also lots and lots of visual glitches. The projection for triples are fantastic though
