I got this back in 2007. I was crazy about it back then at 10 years old, but then for several years I hadn't been on it as much. Around 2017/2018 I hopped back on it, and I still love it. Even though so many people hate it, I don't care, I love it

This game has been with me since childhood but I never really saw anything in it until around maybe a year or so ago. I played it again, expecting the most boring shit imaginable but was surprised at how breakneck and chaotic it was. It was refreshing compared to the more tame track racers I've played, and since then I've enjoyed the hell out of it. Solid car list, some decent tracks, and my first big step into taking interest in techno/trance. The physics are definitely questionable, super low gravity, and botched drifting mechanics (how did you nail it so well in this vid?) that feel like trying to find the straightest edge through a turn or eat the wall. They kinda have a mind of their own and steer your car without input (I've tested this many times). This game was kinda advertised as a demolition racer but it's not really the case, though you can just clobber everyone and call it a day, game isn't as exciting that way. The grip handling in this game is fantastic on the contrary to the horrible drifting, though when you get decent you notice the AI are pretty slow in turns. I used to actually like Carnage more than this game but that quickly changed when I realized how shallow and terrible Carnage's AI is in comparison, kind-of ruining the fun in any actual exciting or genuine racing, with the game's only saving grace being weapons and skills. It's sad Carnage was the only one on PSP, (DT Racer was supposed to be on it as well shown at E3 04) as the Axel Impact experience on the go would've been great. Didn't like the original korean release as much as this, thought it was a pain to get my hands on it, so I still kinda treat it as a prized possession. One of the programmers for this and the og Korean release is still around and active on forums, I think about shooting him a message sometimes, as well as finishing out my own personal retrospective on this whole bargain series. Weird games but they're pretty cool. Too bad none of them never made PC releases.

Fantastic !!! i unlocked the car Infinit PSY Janes in DT Carnage by using pcsx2 and cheat engine since it's not on the growth board to buy and i posted the save on Gamefaqs, but can you send a message to the people who created this games on how to unlock the car by normal means ? i also found on the game files hidden weapons and skills text strings related to unused stuff, unfortunately i'm not that pro in hacking and only managed to unlock that car in a lucky way messing with the CarList text string's values.

Oh god, this game. I love the royalty free modified cars this game has. It definitely feels like an attempt by another company to make a Ridge Racer esque game but a bit more simcade in terms of handling model. Despite that though, I never got into it to even get so far in the game and its sequel DT Carnage. It just felt soo boring to go through. The sound design for the cars too weren't that good too and it just felt.."meh". The only fond memories I have of this game is selecting the fastest car in the game, picking the oval and driving the wrong way and smacking into everyone to see the carnage.

fun fact in the original korean version the sidewinder rex has a slight difference in it’s design, it does not have the stripes it has on other releases like in the intro for the game another fun fact the korean version has half the cars the other releases have, cars that were later added are the Wolverine Vixen Pixie, Ichinomiya DDI Furious, Universe Express 999 Pegasus, Axis J1 Nebura, Andromeda GT Saiyo, Maverick ZK110 Storm, also two replacement cars for the special car revils, the Cavallo 512 V12 Silver and the Centurial Falcon LUCIFER Special.

IIRC as well the Axel Impact Rex features a Sidewinder badge on the rear that was removed for DT Racer. Korean version is missing those cars yes but Maverick, Pegasus, Nebura, and DDI can be found on in-game FMVs and backgrounds, so they were likely scrapped (for whatever reason).

So it's like a mixture of ridge racer and flatout 2, this really doesn't look that bad honestly. I've seen this game before but I never got a chance to play it, and I will for sure play this and the sequel, definitely a Korean Namco development mix!

Ah yes. DT Racer is a game. I have played enough of it to know what I like and don't like about it. DT Carnage on the other hand...you just have to play it for yourself. It starts off really slow and gets better and faster the further you progress. I got enjoyment from both games. DT Carnage is the better game by far. I can actually forgive the physics and A.I. behavior for a powered up arcade racer experience. As far as I know DTC is the only racing game that lets you upgrade skills and abilities in the manner it does. It's like some kind of RPG tech tree or something. Again, you have to play it yourself to get the experience.

For the ability trees and equipment that increases your skill, look out evolution gt. It's for ps2 but also pc, and it felt good at the time

DT Carnage is a really fantastic game !! the game at the beggining is hard but once you start to buy upgrades and skills it will get much better, i modified the game's save data using cheat engine and pcsx2 to unlock the hidden car Infinit PSY Janes, you can get it on Gamefaqs

Starting out in DT Carnage is absolutely miserable, and the AI in it is absolutely terrible versus Racer and Axel Impact. I would say something good about the drifting improvement but the physics were baby-ified so hard, they're extremely exploitable and not even the AI take advantage of that. Any attempt at genuine racing without weapons in Carnage is just miserable.

Putting a hood intake on the "Nightmare" is obviously enough to totally make it *not* a Ferrari 360 Modena, legally-speaking. Even if a hood intake on a 360 Modena doesn't make too much sense because it's a mid-engined car. There's also the cheesy wing but I've seen a handful of 360 Modenas that have spoilers.
