Xtool D8W Demonstration of some of the graphics capability

Scan Tool - Wireless - Xtool D8W - Graphics Demo. Record 8 PIDs while test driving. Choosing a Scan tool can be confusing. There are many to choose from and they have good capability. It is hare to tell what the graphics recording is like from the sales info. I decided to give Xtool a try this time. My old scan tool served me well but the hardware is limited so time to upgrade. So far so good. I haven't spent much time with it yet. I purchased it from Amazon. I have not been compensated for this review.

When viewing graphs or real-time data, is there a noticeable difference in speed between wired and WiFi? I'm trying to decide between the D8W and the D8S. Thanks!

I can't say for sure. I think they went to WiFi for speed. I have a VD70 wired and i don't notice a speed difference between them. One thing about the wired is that it might charge by wire. My D70 does charge and so it will stay at 100% on a long test drive. My old Autel does not charge by the wired connection. You can get an OBD2 extension cable if you don't want wireless. I need to tie a string on my VCI so that i don't leave it on someone's car.

How about Power Balance test to see if their are cylinder drop offs?

I think that the Vdiag VD70 has the same software from Xtooltech. If you look at my review of the VD70 starting around minute 7 the cylinder balance test is shown. I think you will find the same thing on the D8W. When i have time i will check it out and reply back.
