I think Simon saved Katie because he was 100% Aiden had received more votes than her so he was trying to avoid being "the bad guy". Bad move Simon, bad move.

+Carolina Remedi They asked Katie to be on the show. SHe was on the bottom 2 four times, Aiden none. Aiden clearly won the sing off. Perhaps Simon thought Aidens elimination would help One D, or perhaps they had some allegiance with Katie as there was no reason to keep her after the sing off.

Congratulations on knowing Simon. If you know him, you must know he is smart and knows when he sees talent. There is one not one reason on this planet for saving Katie. He had backed her repeatedly, even when it was obviously in appropriate. His ego got him on X F US where he did something very similar. He may not have done it on purpose, but at least subconsciously, he had some reason for picking the obviously inferior Katie over Aiden, who is someone he had said more than once was a viable recording artist. The best I can say, is that Simon who I think usually gets it right, was very biased toward Katie throughout. Disappointing.
