No worries! China restaurant food is very different from Malaysia Chinese food. Good to have more choices. Afterall KL is tourism city.

@@hyhong1740 This is the first time I've heard that 'Northern Chinese food' is healthier than 'Southern Chinese food/Malaysian Chinese food.' Most 'Northern Chinese food' is known for being heavy in oil, salt, and spice. Whether it's Xinjiang, Northeast China, Sichuan, or Chongqing, these northern regions are famous for their strong flavors-you can even often see a layer of oil covering the food.
This seems to be a phenomenon all over Asia. It's the same here in Singapore, and I hear in Hong Kong as well. I can only hope there is no over-sinicization, and that local cuisines are able to hold their own in a multi-cultural society.
need to stop those PRC from entering the country, other sector such as development is ok to cooperate and join force, but dont allowed those PRC to do small business here .
this is a good sign, malaysia we have lots of thai, vietnamese, japanese, korean, arabic, indo, western, indian... why cant we have mainland chinese restaurant? we are proud as a multi-cultural and open minded society, we cant manipulate by ideology. we cant avoid the competition.

Do you understand the difference between 'having' and 'overabundance'? Just look at the current night markets, especially the Connaught Night Market-more than half of the stalls there are now serving mainland Chinese food. This trend isn’t limited to just this market; many night markets are starting to show similar patterns. Having some variety is, of course, a good thing, but when it becomes excessive, the uniqueness of Malaysia fades away. What we should be highlighting is 'Malaysia’s diversity and the diversity within Malaysia,' not letting the Malaysian identity disappear entirely.

@@alexfengerson7982 Malaysian Chinese food can and should definitely be part of Malaysian identity. What I’m talking about here is mainland Chinese food, especially the 'overabundance of Northern Chinese food.' These foods have no connection to Malaysian Chinese cuisine or Malaysia itself. I’m highlighting an 'overabundance' situation, not merely 'having' some variety. I do understand that what we have here often comes from China, but quite a number of dishes have been modified and blended with Malay or Indian influences-that’s our identity. This doesn’t include food from Northern China, like Lanzhou la mian, luo shi fen, rou jia mo, etc., which are completely unrelated. Remember, the focus is to avoid 'overabundance,' not simply 'having' these foods. We can and should have such foods to add variety, but when it turns into 'overabundance,' it becomes a different issue. Just look at the Connaught Night Market now and compare the local stalls to the foreign food ones. Here’s what I suggest for Connaught: Change the name, maybe to 'International Food Market.' Separate areas for 'local dishes' and 'foreign dishes.' We want to promote our own dishes to the world, even if slightly modified to fit a broader palate, as long as they remain ours. Foreign foods can attract tourists and bring short-term appeal, but they don’t help with long-term development. Just imagine traveling to a foreign country-would you want to stay somewhere filled only with Malaysian culture? I believe the answer is no because no one travels just to experience the same culture they’re familiar with. If that were the case, there’d be no point in traveling. Keyword: 'Northen Chinese Food' & 'overabundance'

@@alexfengerson7982they are not Malaysian Chinese, they are China Chinese. Huge difference. Since when we eat 四川麻辣锅、手撕包、螺蛳粉😅
I couldn't belive it, when my Malaysian friends told me "in Malaysia people eat instant noodles as breakfast". That's so horrible, how can anyone eat instant noodles to start their day. Let the Chinese come lift people in Malaysia out from peasantry. Remember - you are what you eat.
