Agreed. Lin is superb in blocking and counter top spins. I believe he's one of the best to do so, even better than most Chinese players with better potential. Xu Xin changed to higher tantalizing loops when he noticed Lin's gifted talent. Lin is probably the best TT player from Taiwan (Formosa) so far. With room to improve at his young age, he will become a very formidable force in his team.

第一次打决赛已经算是很好的了，虽然1-4输了，但是你看比方其实也就是两分差距。我看了整场比赛的直播 其实小小林是很有机会赢的，只是重要比分时候无畏失误了两三个 这个很不应该。从比赛层面来说前三句小小林场面是全面压制许昕 而且线路控制的很好 把许昕打的很难受。差一点经验。他比赛气质还有脑子分析能力比其他选手好很多前三板也很细腻正手也很好，希望他回去能够想办法增加以下肌肉和力量 他快18岁了 身体肌肉质量真的有点弱。

林可以与昕爷远台相持，就说明他的基本功真的很好。而且不骄不躁，宠辱不惊，真的是大将风范，相比较小摩托，更欣赏他陪樊振东竞争未来。 但是我认为业余选手，还是多学习女乒的动作结构更好。因为一般业余选手达不到专业男乒技战术所需要的力量，而女乒因为力量小，所以更注重的是整体结构之间的转换，这一点对业余选手的学习更有利。(btw，小哥哥长得是真的眉清目秀的帅)

The key to the current success of Lin Yun and Harimoto upon legendary players is only staying close to the table and taking the ball early. That works well against Ma Long (when he’s not in his best shape) and Fan Zhendong etc. but never against Xu Xin. This is because Xu Xin is a monster with ridiculously heavy spin and speed. So, I’m pretty much confident, these two threats will/can almost never win Xu Xin (before he gets too old). Or else they need to be more complete (not only staying close to the table).

With the advent of Poly balls and the latest ABS plastic, hitters and blockers have the edge over spinners now. Just see how Hari and Lin hit/block/flick to kill without fear, with excellent timing for sure. A bit outside the law of physics, looking at the strength (and rubber) applied to generate the spin.
