I swear to God every time I said this name to people they never knew who she was or like I imagined it but I’m glad I found it. I am born in 1990. I did not know the show was in 1988.

This profile would later get re-purposed by MTM Enterprises (before UK-based TVS sold it to Pat Robertson) 4 years later as part of a pitch for Xuxa's U.S. TV show.

I remember seeing this on Telemundo in the 80's. I always thought the outfits were iffy for 12 yr olds to watch, but she is very attractive for people 20 or older..

She was 24 then, I was 30. I hoped my young son would take a liking to her show so we could watch it together. He didn't though, oh well.

I have loved her since 1996, then i got deployed to europe. They loved her there in germany. I think she is ethnic german. I don't know. Her shows are happy dancing with catchy songs. It is most remarkable. She dares to be a one woman show. Long live xuxa.

She is ethnic German, a lot of Germans have immigrated to Brazil. Gisele Bundchen is another famous Brazilian of German descent.

Xuxa eventually did get a show on American television. I used to watch reruns of it on the Family Channel(Now ABC family). I really think its a shame that it didn't catch on, in America at least.

CartoonsAndGameShows I watched that show and noticed how she would kiss the kids after putting on lipstick at the end of some episodes. I thought that this action may have been taken the wrong way by American audiences.

I also think that she aired way too early for American kids. I remember watching her because I couldn’t fall asleep. Her show came on at like 6 am. Way too early for kids to catch on. She also had difficulty speaking English, which would also make it difficult for kids to understand her. I think sometimes she was frustrated with the language barrier and that the kids couldn’t understand her, Xuxa appeared in a way that she seemed rude with the kids. Finally, I think some of the parents thought she dressed a little too racy. Keep in mind this was the early 90s, America was still largely conservative back then. Seeing a woman dressing in short shorts, kissing kids on the cheek might have been too much.

started out for adolescents then to kids, but she was soo pretty and dressed soo scantily, many adult men were attracted and they quickly formed over 40% of her audience. this forever tainted her image in the states, but it didn't stop her from becoming a sensation worldwide in latin america, europe, australia and even Japan.

Ya know, even though it wasn't really appropriate for kids they were a lot safer there than with Michael Jackson or Jimmy Saville or Garry Glitter
@Soundeagle34567 ай бұрын
you know even if she did have sexy time with some kids, they would never come out about it to their families, because they probably enjoyed it.
