When installing xw xy dash ALWAYS install by laying dash top toward you and fit bottom in first. Also to make it easier , drop out steering column bolts to give you more leverage and place a towel over steering column so you don't damage the dash. xw, xy dash fascia's don't grow on trees and are extremely easy to damage guys.

This is so funny to see you guys fumble around an old XY. Keep learning boys, you'll get there. I'm watching in awe but can't give advice once you've done it. Pointless of me to tell you how to fit when you already done it. It's good fun to learn isn't it.

You could put a Gravelrash Bluetooth module and speaker setup. No need for a radio at all.

A tip If you loop the end of the bonnet release cable back through the screw bock it won't come loose and accidentally pull out.

All new Fakio premium car audio, with pre sets and mega bass Ford XB was a cool dash, awesome in car scene in Mad Max, when Max starts the yellow interceptor to run down the Nightrider in the HQ

Bit late lads but did this early 80s was xw Fairmont getting XY gt dash and was annoying but easy, wires for oil fuel and temp connected up and didn't change sensors worked fine just had to feed taco, from memory harness goes up on drivers side bunch for column lower rest up high and across to left there will be metal tangs on firewall that hold/secure loom one of the dash knobs has a grub screw in it and think it one for headlights

I have a Fakio for my EH, It's the original radio, but it's that old I'm not game to wire it up.....Great work lads, the wiring shouldn't be too bad, as long as everything is plugged in under the bonnet you should be able to work out what wire does what gauge, all the switches should be plug & play if it has all of the correct plugs on the harness..... The rest should be dash lights... Simple 😃👍

Theres a few nice dashes over the years in the 60 s and 70s . Hg monaro facia . Xa /xb gt , Charger dashes hq gts . Also hz arent bad either. As well as xy facias . You both did well as you didnt remove it dash fitted well . Even that fakeoo told you awhile 😁😁😁😁😁 all good the entertainment was worth it . Say hi to the tin man whom is an amazing welder and repaired something for me

The gauges go crazy they need a voltage relay before the dash power the wire going to the coil should have the ballast resistor in the wire unless you have electronic ignition the you done need the ballast in the wire
