Thanks for a very thorough and helpful video. I've done some reading on functors, but I still have two questions: 1. Why use a functor for the thumb moveCallback as opposed to defining a standard function? 2. Why is the thumb.moveCallback connected to the sliders in the XyPad constructor as opposed to being defined as a separate function?

Thanks for sharing. How are you showing the argument names (as per the declaration) in your cpp file? That looks super useful.

Oh yea, it's a really cool feature of a tool that I use, it's called ReSharper by Jetbrains. It's a paid tool, but I use Jetbrains products quite a lot, so it's worth the price for me.

Hi nice video!! Do you know how to set a detent / start point where the knob starts from center of a horizontal slider and can be moved left and right. Really cant find any information on this

Nice video. Do we have to make listeners manually? I was under the impression that AudioProcessorValueTreeState automates this process for us.
@akashmurthy2 жыл бұрын
Hey there, it's a long video, and it's been a while. Maybe post the timestamp? So, the APVTS can store parameters, and you can listen to parameter changes. You can also attach parameters to common UI components like sliders and buttons. In this case, you don't need to implement your own listeners. But the XY pad is a custom component, and to respond to changes associated with parameters, we'll need to implement our own listeners.

@@akashmurthy oh, I see. APVTS make automation and UI-driven changes automatically, but it doesn't proveide callbck for us unless we specify a listener. And we need a callback in this particular case. Stupid me.

Hi sir can you please tell the setting in visual studio for the parameter hint to always show??

Sure, I use a Visual Studio extension called ReSharper by Jetbrains. It's a paid tool, but it's worth the price for me.
