The sense of harmony and not bothering others (especially on public spaces) is a strong value in Japan. Japanese are generally polite, hospitable, considerate and helpful but it doesn’t mean that they are not bothered by inadvertent cultural faux pas committed by foreigners. They will certainly not tell you or show you the real feelings that they may have out of consideration that maybe a foreigner is simply unaware of certain Japanese norms, but trust me, those gaffe doesn’t leave a favourable impression of our country. Japan is so unique and amazing, travel is so much more rewarding and smooth with knowing the culture.

I agree, however even if you read a lot online you will truly understand the culture once you have experienced it by yourself, you'll get familiarize with the culture day by day and you will slowly adapt.
