In this edition of Tarikh, Divyanshi Talks about how Balochistan became a part of Pakistan. During Partition Balochistan Declared itself as an Independent state. Muhammad Ali Jinnah himself lobbied with the Cabinet mission on Behalf Khan of Kalat, one of the provinces of Balochistan. Balochistan declared itself an independent state and muslim League agreed to it. Jinnah later tried to coerce Kalat to accept the document of Accession but Kalat Refused. In March 1948, An All-India radio broadcast claimed that VP Menon, secretary of the Indian government, had refused Kalat Accession to India. Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru tried to dismiss the news in the constituent assembly but Pakistan took advantage of the condition and invaded the Khanate of Kalat, the very next day.
