以下係其中兩個回復: @Dom Dom The customs officer is wrong but I don't blame him for not knowing because most Singaporeans also think it's illegal to possess chewing gum. It is only illegal if the amount on you is deemed to be too much for self-consumption; like you have a whole carton full of them. @Dom Dom Sorry I think that particular custom officer does not know his work and the law regarding chewing gums. You CAN chew chewing gums in Singapore. But you CANNOT sell chewing gums in Singapore. If you buy and bring the chewing gums to Singapore from overseas for personal consumption, it is OK.

1+1 year lease mostly for expatriates. The second year of the lease , mostly is optional and flexible, (1st year is fixed) only can be terminated with a solid reason such as being transferred out of Singapore by the company etc. It’s same in HK.
@TwinCondorsAndLittleRedHorse2 жыл бұрын
Yes, no such thing as being forced to continue renting or to give justification. It actually depends on the contract you signed. If the contract says 1 year, then it really is 1 year. Just that when the tenant is an expatriate, I believe the contract will include a special clause that allows the expatriate to break the 1 year lock-in period if he/she is forced to leave Singapore. So it's actually meant to protect the expatriate tenant.

I think is not exactly of what you said. Sing cars need COE also the cost of the car is higher include taxes. Parking wise, in sing, CBD is not easy and expensive as well. If we are talking about just family leisure for food and hang outs not CBD area, in HK there is area for it and it is cheap as well. Lower cost of the cars, we can get middle range or higher variant models for normal HK people. Some cars in sing are low grade, which don't see it in HK, partly due to high cost, some sing people have to get lower end car models.

@stjenjen2 жыл бұрын
Standard of living is actually lower than HK. We don’t have to pay 30-40M HKD to own proper apartments as our public housing is very well developed. An example, if you go to cafe, a cup of coffee is around $6, that’s about HKD36, which is cheaper than a lot of places in HK. I give another example. I’m learning ballet, my monthly fee is only $160, that’s 2 times per week, 90 mins per lesson (group lesson). I was planning to move to HK previously so I had researched a bit. You won’t be able to get any proper ballet lessons with that price.
