Thank you for bringing back wonderful memories of childhood back to me. Used played in my late father's goldsmith shop after school, before going home with him in the evening. And Hai Kee opposite was our favourite restaurant.
Thank you Abaco for another excellent video close to my heart. There was a Shell petrol station at the traffic intersection next to Thean Tek Printer and opposite that corner block was my dad's Chinese Restaurant Sin Thoo Yuen once stood. Please do a video of Pekan China where I lived since 5 years of age from Penang until leaving for Sydney Australia at 25. I believe I have never been back in Alor Star for over 30 years? but I still called it home. From your videos AlorStar shines like the old tale or is it a joke I was once told? Telling a story of a local Malay lord sitting with an English officer by where the river meanders at the end of Pekan China. They were sitting talking and admiring the evening but then suddenly they both saw a comet or asteroid across the night sky. The Malay cried out "Alo'" and the English also exclaimed in surprise "Star"! The rest is elementary therefore they named the place "Alor Star". Cheers

Haha, your story is interesting and wonderful. Oh, I know Sin Thoo Yuen. When I was young, my father used to take me to eat dim sum. I still remember the tua bao is very big. I will do the video of Pekan Cina, please give me some time, thank you😊.

@@abacotan1140 Thank you, my ancestor house was in Pekan Cina and use to be a Chinese Medical Shop. It is now use as a warehouse for salted fish so I heard. It is a few doors from Thye Woh sundry shop. What is unique about my ancestral house is that it was facing a road, so have some feng shui artefacts on the roof to to block the bad qi...I look forward to your video on Pekan Cina :)
