I respect Shioda. I know he trained under Kodo for a time. What he is showing is only the surface of those powerful techniques (Demo play). People can call BS or whatever, who cares... They do work...
I saw many fake masters show similar poor skills. every movements are crazy. I think 塩田剛三 really know how to manipulate people's center-of gravity as art and reasonable. He might be the true Master.
Gozo Shioda is in my line of Aikido. Shioda, Makiyama, Bandy, myself. I comprehend how people say fake as Kerndogg states. But to some degree there is minuscule movements that can, if done properly, create some of the appearance of fakery. Now I am not going to say that all of it is so. There are things about Aikido that I myself don't care for and do not practice or spread to my students. And that "fakeness" that comes with Aikido in many dojo forms which I like to call Fluffy Bunny Aikido. Mine is not just Aikido but Aikijitsu Aikido before the nastiness was removed due to religious morality reared its ugly head. But it is nice to know that that sort of craziness isn't just in America.
