I have played this every morning to help start my day for weeks. My words cannot adequately express the beauty and power I feel in this composition. It gives me inner, soulish strength that calls me to excellence. I may not achieve it, but the call it there, and I must answer it.

@@clover956, no. I am an American who loves traditional Chinese symphony orchestra music.
I'm really just starting to discover Chinese classical orchestral music - it is like discovering an entirely new art form that had somehow been kept secret!
Out of all the versions I've seen on KZbin so far, this has got to be one of the best performances. The conductor has done a terrific job interpreting the piece, preparing the orchestra, inspiring them, and emoting the piece for everyone. You can tell Liu Sha does not compromise on quality. From the opening of the percussion to the solo wind instrument (don't know the name) it draws you in instantly. If you mess that opening up, the rest of the piece is doomed, and they've all done a fantastic job right from the beginning! And the balance of the sounds is gorgeous. When you Ruan come in, it was clear and punchy and really excites you and makes you want more. The gradual ascent of the piece was achieved masterfully- punctuated with percussive transitions that sound unique and clean. Dynamics were fluid and synchronized. Even though this is a youth symphony of sorts, they have done really well. Bravo!

The solo wind instrument at the beginning is called a Guan, in Chinese it is 管. Indeed, Liu Sha(劉沙)is one of the best conductors for Chinese Orchestra
Merci pour ces jeunes virtuoses et solistes de haut nlveau également pour le maestro de l'orchestre bravo.

By watching this video, I am extremely happy deep from my heart not only because of this fantastic performance and the wonderful composition of this great piece of music, but also love to see that we have so many talented and capable young musicians in this youth orchestra 新竹青年國樂團. From them, I can see the very bright future of Taiwan - at least in the cultural development (Not Revolution!)

Just beautiful all round. From Conductor to the players. Such a wonderful relationship between them all. Wish I could go and see them. How to do it though ? I can afford but don’t know how ?
