Just for context. Lior schlein is a strong left wing persona in Israel (his wife/partner in life is the head of the labor party which is the symbol for leftist in israel) and he's been criticizing Israel for the past 2 decades. I usually dont agree with a lot of things he says, but if it came ti the point that he defends Israel so strongly, there must be a strong reason to it.

There is no absolute truth to it. As to "What should they do?" I don't know, I don't have the answers to such complex topics. But I know that murdering innocent civilians is not the right answer. Doing nothing is better, than killing those uninvolved. What Israel does is the lazy and immoral route. That's what people criticize them for (mostly). Also the "IDF goes out if is ways to notify civilians and master information gathering" is a bullshit excuse. If you "master information gathering" it means you know that there are innocent people. If you still bomb it, you are morally bankrupt. Israel is not a victim here. The only victim in this conflict are the civilians, and the civilians of Israel chose their government... the others didn't. So who has the power to invoke change? The "civilized" nation, or the insane terror group? Who should we expect to be reasonable? The nation who "just wants to live in peace", or the extremists who sacrifice their own people to get what they want? Israel has to make an effort to get this shit under control. Bombing the shit out of civilians, and stealing their land and property, is counter productive. Instead of deescalating, Israel is fueling the hate.
