if AD increases doesn't it increase demand-pull inflation? if we use your logic that it increases price of factors of production, that is cost-push inflation, no? isn't that just confusing between demand-pull & cost-push?

How does competition reduce?

@econplusdal could you say there is "disinflation as there is reduced competitor for factors of production"

Surely a fall in price is deflation? And not a fall in inflation
@neuratictoast4222 Жыл бұрын
I guess that does make sense. But i guess you could link it to something like the Lorenz curve and that the less unemployment results in a higher inflation rate of the economy. Since AD would likely shift to the right since there is higher disposable income and therefore more demand for goods and services therefore the inflation rate would increase

the impact on inflation from a shift in LRAS is that disinflation or deflation ?
@maxhutchinson1117 Жыл бұрын
deflation mate
@maxhutchinson1117 Жыл бұрын
but kind of depends on what the previous rate was. Unlikely, but say inflation was at 1%, depending on the size of the shift of LRAS, (in this case lets say it's a big shift), it may cause disinflation. - this is unlikely though but not impossible. The more likely one is deflation, ceteris paribus, my friend.
@peely6008 Жыл бұрын
@@maxhutchinson1117 do you know why there is decreased competition which leads to deflation when LRAs shifts to the right. I always thought that the deflation came from a greater application of factors of production and increased productivity allowing for economies of scale and lower prices
