Its about a group of Leurruses (idk if I wrote it correct) who are descendants of Tyrant and Elara. Each girl is required to go through the Rite of Passage in order to ferry with the others(when the moon is full the dead people, chained and Unchained are put into paradise or the underworld) so the girl will sing a song where her amoure will listen and come see her, her job is to kill her amoure within a year or else her amoure and she die😆hope I explained it well And also it doesnt have spice

This is definitely an unpopular opinion, but… I liked the Caraval series. Did not love, was not the greatest thing I’ve ever read, but definitely fun and very good. I LOVED OUABH/TBONA. The Ballad of Never After’s ending was so ahdjusgdbwim, in the best way, still crying over it. What I noticed about Stephanie’s writing is that you can clearly see how it develops in each book. I mean, Caraval to TBONA? An obvious difference in the quality. And veryyyyyyy great. HIGHLY RECOMMEND ONCE UPON A BROKEN HEART. Even if you don’t like the first book, the second book is definitely worth it, I made my friend read it and she didn’t enjoy it until the second half of the second book, but she was obsessed with it and it was def worth it.

No you don’t have to, but it will make you learn about the world. I also really liked the first and third book of shadow and bone tho :) so don’t let the negative comments discourage you. But it will still be a good series without shadow and bone, but only a bit difficult to get into (just remember that in the beginning of the book)

Also are they spicy or inappropriate? I don’t mind the violence I just hate books that have a load of smut and spice in them, I don’t mind a bit of romance that’s fine, I like it just as long as it doesn’t go too far
