What surprised me is that when they took our ports, when they wage war against Ethiopia, when they commit treason against Ethiopia they had no regard for Ethiopia's law or international law. Are there international laws that justified what shabiya did in 1991? E.g. is there international law that says take power by coup d'etat or take territory of a sovereign state through armed struggle and make them landlocked? Not at all. But when we say we want our access to the Red Rea they cite international law that they themselves did not respect.

Brother, i am not sure your age, ethiopia deserve access to the sea. Hoever , can not invade neighbours. Regarding eritrea there is what it is called the addis ababa treaty between minilik and italian eritrea after 1896 battle of adwa. Eritrea was under Italy from 1889 to 1941 and British 1941 to 1952 . According to 1963 AU charter all african teritories border is based on their colonial border. Eritea was under italian colony for 60 years with this border. But no o e tell you this truth & fact .

@@ambessashield9360 in 1991 Meles had no power , the chance was ended when King Hailsilasie violet the federation beween ethiopia and eritrea . Had it nott been the federation violeted, eritreans would not vave gone to fight. 1991 eritrea was first occupied by Liberation force before ethiopia occupied by Meles. Ethiopia was the first country to recognise eritrean indipe dence. Dr. Dereje (R.I.P) ethiopian famous law professort said this issue is closed. The best solution is creating regional union like european union. That period of is blood has no use for the region.

@ What do you mean Meles had no power? Ethiopian troops were deep into Eritrea in 1998-2000 war, Eritrean army were destroyed. All they had to do is march to Asseb and combine Afar land with Afar region of Ethiopia.

Brother if you truly believe that Ethiopia's quest for outlet to the sea is legitimate you have to claim littoral coast lines on Eritrean soil not on Somalia or Somaliland. Switzerland is a landlocked country but the wealthiest country on Earth hence don't try to relate sea access to development it doesn't hold water. The issue is not about port it is about Navy and for the answer you have to investigate why many countries try to annex some portions of the Red Sea area the answer is simple it is the Global positioning importance towards Jerusalem which is going to be the Capital City of the world in the thousand years reign of Cheru Medahnialem. Take the port back and then we can negotiate. The narrow strip of land stretching from the north (around Adigrat) to Asseb denying Ethiopia access to the Red Sea shows how unjust the map is. There is no logic or law that can justify this funny map denying Ethiopia access to the Red Sea. Moreover, Ethiopia is under no obligation to accept colonial borders and give away the 1200 km sea coast that it owned for centuries since Ethiopia has not been colonized.
