Minoo Mumtaz jee (born Malikunnisa Ali on 26 April 1942) is a former Indian film actress. She is the sister of India's ace comedian Mehmood Ali and is part of the Mehmood Ali film family. Minoo Jee appeared in many Hindi films of the 1950s and 1960s, mostly as a dancer and character actress.

It is very very pleasing to see Meenu Mumtaj after so many years, I was a adolescent child in 1960s still remember her excellent character roles and dances, indeed those days actresses were like goddesses to us without any vulgarity in their personality. It is a pity that Govt of India did not award Md Rafi more than a mere Padmashree but he will remain in the minds of all Indians for ever and they will remained ashamed for the discrimination.

Meenu ji behadh khoobsurat hi nahi, ek ucch koti ki nrutyangna , aur ek unda actress bhi thi. Lekin unhein badi filme nahi mili, kyun ki unhe ek dancer ke roop se he dekha jaata thaa. Ye galat soch thi film industry ki. Jaise aapne bilkul sahi kaha, ye mahaan kalaakaar, industry ke founders me gine jaate hein. Inke bhai Memood Sahab ka kahna hi kya. Wo comedy king ke naam se jaane jaate thae. Wo ek kamyab producer bhi thae, aur kabhi kabhi gaana bhi gaa lete thae. Insaaniyat un me koot koot ke bhari hui thi. 1960-61 ki baat hai, jab Mala Sinha ji ke ghar IT waalon ne chaapa maara, toh Mahmood sahab Wahaan pahunch gaye aur Mala ji se kaha :- "Mala bahan ji, suna hai aapke yahan IT ki raid hui hai. Is mushkil ki ghadi me, kya mei aapke kaam aa sakta hun. IT waalon ne aapka bank ka khata band kar diya hoga. Aap ye paise rakhiye. Inshallah aapki musibat jaldi door ho jaaye. Aur kuch madat chahiye, bagair hichkichahat ke phone lagaaiye. Mei madat karne ke liye taiyar hun ". Mala ji ne wo paise nahi liye kyun ki ghar chalaane ke liye unke pass kuch paise thae. Mala ji kahti hein ki, unhone Mahmood sahab ka samundar jaisa dil dekha. Amitabh Bacchan ji ne Mahmood sahab ke intekal per shok jatate hue kaha ki wo Mahmood sahab ko apna aadarsh maante hein. Unhone ye bhi kaha ki shuruaati struggle ke daur me wo Mahmood sahab ke ghar me raha karte thae. Mahmood sahab ne unko apni film Bombay to Goa me Hero ka chance diya thaa. Mahmood sahab ko college jaane ka mauka nahi mila. Phir bhi apni mehnat se unhone Angrezi seekhi, aur Angrezi bolne me unki mastery thi. Unki filme dekh kar mei khoob hasta thaa (Kunwara baap ko chod kar, jisme unhone rulaya thaa ). Jab 1998-99 me unko wheel chair me dekha toh mere aankhon me aansu aa gaye. Uske 7 saal baad jab unka Bangalore me intekal hua toh mera dil poori tarah se baith gaya. Aapko maalum hoga Johny lever ji, jo khud ek acche comedian hein, wo Mahmood Sahab ko apna guru maante hein. Mei Allah se ye dua karta hun ki Meenu mumtaz muhtarama ki umar daraz ho. Mujhe yakeen hai, Mahmood sahab ne jannat me apni jagah paa li hogi. Mei Rafi Sahab ka bada bhakt hun.
