@@kennethdunn6650 It's all about intangibles and potential. Lebron as a rookie has 99 Potential and 40 intangibles whereas Mike has somewhere around 65 intangibles and 99 potential. Intangibles which does nothing impacts overall significantly meaning players max out at the same overall earlier than players with lower intangibles. That's why an 89 ovr with 25 intangibles is better than a 90-92 ovr with 99 intangibles.

Intangibles also naturally decreases throughout players careers making them appear worse, but pretty much play the same.

@@kennethdunn6650 2k has some other weird stuff like tendencies almost entirely determining assist totals instead of actual playmaking ability while rebounds are entirely determined by just off/def rebounding. A player with high flashy pass and lob pass tendencies will have more assists than a player with a higher pass to open player tendency depending on there teammates shot tendencies. By only changing tendencies on my team I once got an 83 overall to average 30-5-13 to win mvp with high turnovers and lower fg%.
