I was absolutely furious when Tommy slept with Diana but I understand why he did it. I hated seeing Lizzie getting her heart broken. I believe you are correct, and I hadn't considered it before, but Mosley Inc's plan was to make Lizzie leave Tommy because Tommy wouldn't ever leave Lizzie. A foreshadowing of things to come? One thing though, it is easy to feel sympathy for Lizzie and in a way rightly so, BUT Lizzie knew EXACTLY what Tommy was like when she agreed to marry him. Did she believe she could change him? Of all the women Tommy has known (as far as we know), Lizzie is the one that has been together with him the longest. If she knows him, as she should by now, then she must realise that he must feel something special towards her. It's not enough to make it last forever and she has to decide if that is enough or not, but it is the best she could ever have realistically hoped for.
