The diner scene is one of my favorite scenes in the whole series. Johnny being this emotionally vulnerable with Miguel, and him holding back his tears as he admitted possibly the greatest mistake of his life. Superb acting.

But I can see it from Johnny's perspective too, because Miguel fought dirty even after his sensei told him not to. Regardless of Robby being the son or not, both Miguel and Hawk were foul with how they fought and disregarded Johnny. It was kind of due punishment for that, but of course the kids would only see it as Johnny being biased towards Robby and not that they were at fault. The call out in front of the other students was well warranted imo.

Ya'll were kind of tripping when it came to Hawk and Miguel asking Johnny about Robby, if they never interacted with each other then yeah I agree with the point that it's none of their business, but Robby is Miyagi-Do's star student and Miyagi-Do is Cobra Kai's major rival, if their rival's main competitor is the son of Cobra Kai's sensei and I'm one of the Cobra Kai students I'm going to be concerned about a conflict of interest, and Miguel and Hawk were half-right in their assumption, it took seeing his son being beaten ruthlessly to realize that certain aspects of Cobra Kai's teachings are toxic as fuck, but they were also wrong that it's just a case of Johnny not wanting to see his son hurt instead of it being that Johnny genuinely wants Cobra Kai to turn a new leaf.
