In the episode "Seven Fishes", Jimmy was reminiscing about his dead dad and how chocolate bananas remind him of his dad to Tiff (Richie's ex) when she was trying to thank him for the job (that Jimmy gave Richie to save him). There's been one comment on this episode that's stuck with me: that Carmy's become the antithesis of Donna. Donna had people who wanted to help, yet believed she had no one, while Carmy believed he couldn't help himself, even though he believed in others. And it's crushing that he never got to see how his brigade did, even without his presence. I'm curious to see how things progress for him in the next few seasons.

What's interesting is Carmy does become his Mother for most of this one episode, where he was stuck in a cold place, couldn't see the problems or help but kept yelling while the team worked really well together, got stuck in his head and his own problems that he hurt the one person he loved the most and then yells at Ritchie for calling him Donna, just like Donna. Carmy and his mom literally had the same arc in this episode to show that they have become one in the same & this was further emphasised when Carmy was called Donna(his moms name) during his argument with Ritchie... i'm probably gonna sound like an ass, but honestly, i didn't really care for claire that much. she was such a nothing character that the writers tried so hard to make us like by literally having other charaters keep repeating how awesome she is. she lacked the depth other female characters have and was written like some sort of male fantasy to the point that i would genuinely 100% believe if it turned out that she was just in carmy's imagination. and i won't deny that she helped carmy get out of his comfort zone and challenged his unhealthy worldview, but other than that? i just couldn't bring myself to care about their relationship and i would be lying if i said i wasn't kind of glad when the breakup happened. it was all just so out of nowhere. there was no mention of her before (i don't think), but then suddenly this perfect, quirky girl appears who's kind of lowkey obsessed with carmy (i'm sorry you cannot tell me that the phone number thing wasn't weird if not creepy) and apparently everyone in the cast knows her and is just in love with her. it just didn't feel genuine, or earned, is what i'm trying to say.

Encouraging Marcus, supporting Tina, shooting the shit with Sydney, literally saving Ritchie's fucking life. But for Carmy, this was all a dept that had to be paid. It wasn't a gift he gave to them, it was to repay them for standing by him and helping him emotionally. And because of that, he feels he can never repay them, so any time he spends away just increases the total against him. Naturally as Tina puts it, that's so SO silly. This finale was tragic. The French brigade had a successful opening yet Carmy lost sight of everything after being locked in the fridge. Carmy’s ego will be their downfall in season 3. This show is magnificent!

This is the 1st reaction I've seen that recognizes that Carmy self-sabotages. The forks and fridge issues existed before Claire ever enters the chat. How many times did Carmy waive off help in getting these matters resolved. Richie's ex warned him not to hook Carmy up with Claire because she's "too nice" and he proved it that night. Claire was never the problem. Carmy is more like his mom than he wants to admit...

The chocolate banana relates to the 6th episode of the 2nd season ( fishes) and during dinner, Richie overhears him reminiscing a memory of going to a chocolate banana stand with his father (now deceased)

@ShikaTheGod8 ай бұрын
Richie shouldn't have even mentioned Donna, from what I saw he started that argument, not justifying what Carmy said tho. I NEED S3 now man, the ending broke me a little.

Bro the way I cringed when he called him Donna 😩 I was like nooooo…. Worse thing Richie coulda said because it’s TRUE, he be going crazy just like his momma
@Ambereigh3 ай бұрын
@@adrianTurbogocrazyit wasn’t true at all tho! Comparing Carmy to his mother is insane! He has literally helped, supported and elevated everyone around him.
@adrianTurbogocrazy3 ай бұрын
@@Ambereigh it’s like 40% true. Carmy’s ability to wreak havoc and chaos in the kitchen is very Donna-esque. He has a toxic way of communicating and is a control freak just like her. I’m not saying he’s a bad person, clearly he’s mentally unwell, and under a lot of stress, but again so was his mom. At his worst he’s a culmination of her and the other toxic relationships he’s had in the kitchen like w his prior boss. But that’s the thing about abuse, it looks different on different ppl. With his mom/boss it was more in your face and consistent, w Carmy it’s when he can’t repress his feelings anymore and he just explodes on everyone and throws a tantrum like a big baby, victimizing himself, self flagellating, etc. He need help fr 🤧 I COULD NEVER work with someone like that.

Did i misunderstand why Cid was puking? My thought was that she just realized that the ticket machine was still printing orders the whole time but the paper ran empty so nobody noticed the orders that were still coming in
@queensaharaice73768 ай бұрын
I do believe you misunderstood. This was just a test run for the team, the fact they STILL had orders coming is a great sign actually, but nothing of major concern I don't think. I think the stress from the past 3 months just finnaly caught up and she was able to "release it"😅

I just think they talk and joke too much in the reaction, i dont find this problem in other big reaction channel. They just missed out some important and wholesome moment when they are keep talking and joking. Hope they adjust in Season 3 and 4 which they start filming.

I mean look it's just the way they are I love these mfs so much but let be honest I don't watch them for dramatic shows cus they joke too much make fun of protagonists shortcomings even if it's serious Even root for the villia in some cases they re best suited in comedy just goofy unaerious shows that takes nothing seriously like them ( no offense ) it's just the way they operate 😂 I only watch them for anime and comedy anything other than that passes me off like the bear last of us and vinland saga
