i think you really appreciate the author's creative solution to living armors if you have enjoyed many other fantasy medias. Like Marcille theorized, it's typically magic (mages, monsters, ghosts, etc.) controlling the armors. I think DunMeshi is the only one that came up with it being mollusks colonies

@@ma.2089 I think Dungeon Meshi slaps, but I have to admit, that the second episode can be a bit tough for newcomers since it makes Senshi and Chilchuck sorta dislikeable before we even get to appreciate their characters. I actually think it's sorta out of character how deliberately petty Senshi seems to be towards Chil in ep 2, considering how he is like the rest of the series.

I thought this was a cool twist on things. Living armor is a great inversion of crabs, oyster and assorted shellfish. (Just put some Old Bay Seasoning in there and its good to eat) I'm sure it was a stretch for our ancestors to see this rock hard thing but know something, edible and even delicious is hidden inside. As for Laios: I have two younger brothers and they both went through a weird food phase. From 10 - 14, it was like a contest to find what strange thing they could put in their mouth. If you know anyone who wants a ghost pepper Paqui and then wash it down bubblegum blue Mountain Dew, then you already know. Some one who wants to fry a chicken breast breaded in flamin' hot Cheetos but the real kicker is they are usually the guys who know were the real good eateries are in an area. They know which Food trucks are worth following. My brother turned us all onto fish tacos before they became a thing in SoCal.

If they really did have some Old Bay, that would've gone great with the living armor mollusks. Just a lot of things in this dungeon would hit with some Old Bay. Also, for Laios' personality, I'd say he's like a combination of Steve Irwin and Andrew Zimmern (that Bizarre Foods guy who had a show on the travel channel). There is something funny on this spin on "generic human knight", he doesn't want to fight monsters for glory and honor, they're just his special interest and thinks they're neat.
