This is a great reminder to how good the music was in the 70's no screaming, violence and anger... songs with a story and you can understand the lyrics.. ride your bike to the record store take your album home and listen to both sides twice because the whole album was so good... You nailed it sistah!
@imbwildrd3693 Жыл бұрын
I totally get what you're saying, but I must say, a lot of those songs were pretty creepy.... "Into The Night" by Benny Mardones: "She's just sixteen years old Leave her alone, they say Separated by fools Who don't know what love is yet But I want you to know If I could fly, I'd pick you up I'd take you into the night And show you a love Like you've never seen, ever seen" yikes

Hey Z-Bear. Not sure if you knew this ... but K-Tel released totally different vinyls in Canada (where I'm from) than the ones they released in the States, Some of the names of the Canadian albums were "Sound Explosion" and "Hit Machine" (among others). They had songs like "Sky High" (by Jigsaw... a "one song see ya later group"); and "Philadelphia Freedom" (as you know by Elton John). The only album our countries that I see we have in common is "DYNAMITE - 20 Original Hits - 20 Original Stars". If you could ever dig up "Sound Explosion" ... which has "Bay City Rollers - Saturday Night" ... or "Hit Machine" ... I think your American audience would appreciate those tunes as well. Not trying to tell you what songs you should be playing ... because after all ... you are an absolute MUSIC GODDESS Love You and keep on rockin'.

Thank you for pointing out those details about K-Tel! Most people don't realize they released records all around the world. We actually have some of those albums from Germany as well as Brazil, UK and of course Canada where the company started. The cool thing is they would add regional songs for each country so there are a bunch different versions out there of every major K-Tel release. The knife sharpener...LOL..yep they also sold all types of kitchen trinkets in addition to their records and oddball record related accessories.
