The Seadeck 6 has beautifull layout and interior furnishing she serves a whole different Azimut customer needs and is a standout from competition. Sustainability arguments are integrated within built materials, perhaps less for fuel consumption as if it were motorized by twin instead of 3 volvo penta but they wanted a whole new product line up and this is where Azimut excells. Well done Jack !

I think out of almost all the walkthrough tours of boats I've seen on this channel this is by far my favorite they managed to make it look and feel more like a home then a boat with the layout and colors they've chosen almost looks more like a lake cottage then a boat ❤🤟😎 knocked the interior out of the park

Brilliant review Jack, thanks. I like the cork decking and battery bank, and most of the boat. Although not sold on sustainability ethos. I’d want a side door at the helm for easy access to that aft wing station, and the louvres in the saloon roof would have to move. It would drive be mad not being able to get proper shade!

Yay! Single lever enters the game! What I normally do is once into gear (with port lever) I pull the starboard lever all the way back so it’s out of the way. Then I rest my hand on the lever console and can adjust the port lever with my thumb and index finger. Very comfortable with high precision.

She can shift quickly, she steady, not a quick turner. Not stately but steady, a comfortable ride. Platform, cork deck covering, versatile seating in the cockpit. Like the cork on top the bulwarks. Like the interior comfortable seating area, great galley with all appliances hidden away. Nice pale colours looks like a light and airy salon. As are all the 3 cabins and 2 bathroom's plenty of storage. Nice wonder about litres to nautical miles? I probably missed it if it was mentioned.

Hi Jack, I am a big fan of Azimut’s designs. Beautiful. One practical question. There appeared to be zero storage for food other than the refrigerator and freezer. All the galley cupboards were filled with appliances. While the design is clean, where does one stuff the coffee maker to keep the design clean? Or the cereal boxes, or the big bags of snacks for the kids? Even the area for glassware and crockery was small. Where are the pots and pans supposed to reside? Lovely boat, lovely exterior. The galley however seems a complete failure other than in its obvious design beauty.

Hi - love the video with a few caveats: I would have liked to see into the switch area and anchor locker, it did seem a little short in that regards. I don't remember a price being mentioned but maybe I missed it. I am almost 6foot 7inches so I would have some issues - but that is true for a lot of houses and almost all cars. IMHO Sustainability in this market and segment is about testing out changes like the cork deck and smaller engines. They are the proving ground for a lot of ideas. I would like to know about customization - dislike the hidden cook top a lot. Also not a fan of the color scheme. Still if I was given one I would not complain. I also wonder if the benefits would compound as boats get bigger - even more teak would not be used etc etc.

What's wrong with diesel? More environmentally friendly than petrol.
@patrickjr115 ай бұрын
@@sirparkinson hardly, it's being phased out for a reason. Not just the nox, not the impact on burning fuels does to climate change but also the particulates on human health. The days of diesel as a fuel are over, as is petrol. The issue in boating is that there is a pointless obsession with marginal increases in speed that no one does needing ever bigger and bigger engines and increasing fuel burn. it's fiddling while Rome burns. Increasing number of battery powered boat's for river/canals and as outboards which id a good thing. But here they went with three diesel engines, when one of them could easily be a electric one for harbour or marina use. It's a pretend sustainable. Green washing at best.
@RetroHondo674 ай бұрын
Diesel is a long long long away from being replaced for large boats, trucks, buses etc the low torque power is just not available from any fuel source.
@patrickjr114 ай бұрын
@@RetroHondo67 hardly. There are already alternatives for diesel in every sector now. Batteries for all road transport are very much a norm. methanol is very popular for ocean going ships with batteries for coastal and inland boats is common. The only sector for which there is currently no alternative id aircraft but batteries are starting to make inroads in light short range flights.
@RetroHondo674 ай бұрын
@@patrickjr11 Your dreaming in technicolor. Methanol is going to require huge investment in engine mods and requires 2.5 times the space in storage. There are boats that are testing these alternatives but the reality is they are nowhere near replacing diesel at any scale. It is the opposite where if anything they are showing that the diesel business case cannot be replaced. Battery cost has skyrocketed as the demand for Lithium versus the supply has created a crisis. Lithium is critical for the higher energy densities required to get in the neighbourhood of fossil fuels. Even if lithium was cheap, you can’t overcome physics and the reality is for larger hauling use case I.e. semi trucks, ships etc. pure battery powered vehicles is a pipe dream. The battery packs are too heavy, lose energy capacity too quickly when cycled and the energy densities required to overcome that issue are theoretical right now, so again diesel is not on the way out. If anything the likely solution will be diesel parallel hybrids which can reduce the emissions while still offering the required energy to move vehicles of 5 tonnes or more. Lots of companies trying to solve the problem but we are still far away from any alternative solution making any real dent at scale especially as the vehicles get larger. Alternative battery techs are still in the lab so they are at least 5-10 years from commercialization. Given the problems and walls ev’s are hitting with cars, mainly the skyrocketing cost of the battery packs making them too expensive, we have to all reset our expectations on the so called “death” of fossil fuels. The truth is the required scale of battery production means we need cheaper materials that are abundantly available while achieving higher energy densities than Lithuim Ion. We are still decades away from that kind of battery tech and it is still not a sure thing it is achievable. We all want engines that produce no emissions but there is nothing wrong with tech which reduce them dramatically. Real solutions need to address the complete value chain if they are actually going to work. We also need to focus on real potential. Any scientist with a brain can explain why batteries are not the answer for applications around our biggest emission problems I.e. Planes, large ships, and semi trucks. Hydrogen maybe the only answer in that scenario but the storage equation may never be solved in that case. Beware of the propaganda hyping that an alternative fuel is going to eliminate completely fossil fuels. If you look under the cover you will find that the reality is they are barely out of the r and d phase and often ignore the real issue of how to deploy the solution at scale. Right now they are no alternative fuel sources that look to address the large vehicle energy needs at a scale where they are economically viable. Even in a space where we thought this was solved, the small vehicle ev, we are now running into the realities that we are perhaps much further away from a completely emission free energy environment.
