Yes, great practical points made, amazing review. You could use auto pilot whilst dabbing the two buttons for easing and furling. I notice you like two cabins and work cabin in these size of boats - totally agree - i.e. two couples/couple and skipper/couple and children max. perfect. It should also be noted that having this winch system means you can not only trim easily, but also retain larger higher powered genoas without relying on self tacking staysails or solent jibs which are smaller.

Chris did have a very short lived sales career, he was too honest! We're not trying to sell boats - only magazines :0)

Wow, very nice boat and a really great tour! I really liked the cockpit helm controls, the salon viewing port in the topsides, the tv, and the washing machine. Wondering what she has for batteries, engine, tankage... Looking forward to the next tour,

Another great boat review YM, and another fine boat HR. I would like to know what height Chris is, it would be helpful to mention it in the "published on....." text as it helps giving a perspective to head height in the boat.

Big ass wheel for a 41 footer
@General_Crock10 жыл бұрын
Need a big ass wheel (or dual helm) for 40 footers that bring their beam that far back. And they pretty much all do now. Otherwise your can't drive while sitting outboard/on the coaming. Unless you have a tiller and extension!

Hallberg Rassy needs to sack all their designers. Now is not 70's.. it's time to design spacious dual cockpit configuration, bigger saloon and light colour saloon wood materials

Arif Abdullah You tell them...oh, how many sailboats did you sell this year?
@anestislouadis83875 жыл бұрын
Different tastes for different people.Hallberg Rassy has established it's market and builds yachts for a certain type of customers.I myself prefer boats that come off as "dated" since they provide a different kind of luxury and they use more solid wood in their interiors and their colors look more "mature".So I prefer these kinds of boats compared to the new age Ikea interiors.

Why can't you review a Real sail boat that doesn't just run off electronics and just review a boat where there is actually work involved sailing is not sailing with out the work and trust me its a pain putting up every thing for my 1977 28' ft Islander and I know damn well you can't sail that thing of electronics
@hdaviator918110 жыл бұрын
"sailing is not sailing with out the work" Hogwash. Sailing is sailing. It doesn't matter how one puts the sail up, just that the sails are put up. What do you call it when you drive a modern car with Anti-lock brakes and electronic fuel injection? Do you not call it driving? Or do you need to be in a 40 year old piece of crap in order to say that you are "driving" for real? PS: All new production sail boats have electric something or other. Its not these guy's fault.
@marlo23039 жыл бұрын
+conor packapunch I am envious, too. As soon as I put my hands on half a million, I'm replacing my 24' bilge keeler with one of these lame electric gizmo loaded ones.
@gkarjala8 жыл бұрын
Especially one of these. i dont know much about sailing, but i'll bet halberg rassy wouldn't put it on thier boat if they didn't feel good about it. They seem to eschew new fangled for tried and true but put craftmanship, materials, and engineering into it. For the price the ask they wouldn't be around if it were not so.
@MyLapuLapu7 жыл бұрын
Conor, everyone likes redundancy when it comes to sailing, I know I would if I do get a sailboat, specially when your out there alone in the middle of the pacific ocean with wind above 30.

I feel sorry for the poor bastard who is sailing this thing, and only relies on electronics to sail, when it loses battery power...... Class A boat. The wiring is really impressive. You can tell a Brit was not involved in designing the electronics.. Unlike my former Camper Nicholson which had 25 miles of wiring between the chart table to the engine area.....
