It looks like a motorcycle, and rides like one too-by which we mean that pedaling the thing is a nigh impossible. Read the full review - www.makeuseof.com/yadea-troop...

It feels like they made it this way to get around some regulations agaisnt an actual motorcycle

I found it on Aliexpress for $500 [48V/ 20Ah,1000W], I would gladly buy it for commuting to work and more. But the EU introduced a damping duty and then the price is $1,400, which is absurd.🤬

The EU needs to ease up on their regulations. Here in the states, if it has pedals, it's a bike and it treated like one legally. IMO 750w is the sweet spot for power and range on an ebike. 250w won't get you very fast and 1500w won't get you very far.

I can't stand seeing "wannabe motorcycles" like this. My Wallke X3 is like a regular bike with 750w motor. The seat and post are the same as a regular bike and I can deliver my own power just as well as a regular bike. I can go 100mi (light pedaling) with 28AH 48v capacity with 30mph top speed and much more nimble for $1800. That "moto e-bike" probably can't do 50mi all things being equal. Bikes like that also get unfavorable responses from others on the trail as well. That "ebike" probably adds 30lb to my already heavy 70lb ride. To each their own but that is barely a bike without the extra power to justify the weight and poor pedaling.
