Great video! This is the one radio I wish I had never sold. If only they had put 2m/70cm in the FT-891

Great radio I have the ldg auto tuner and a atas 120a antenna for going portable. There’s a diagram on the bottom of the rig shows what the slots are for on the rear of the rig. Thanks for the vlog

Great all round performer. Used mine now for 11 years in my pickup truck with the Atas 120A Screwdriver antenna. Covers all bands.. perfect VSWR. Beware of the dreaded zebra stripes appearing on the display screen.. The OEM replacement parts are like hens teeth.. Been waiting 6 months now for a new display from Yaesu Japan..

Be advised if you in the USA Japan models won’t tx on USA bands & the power levels are different a mars mod will not fix this

Make sure you have 100 watts ssb! They make a 25 watt 857 also.😢

The real question is current draw. If the 857D draws a bunch of current (on receive) then it means you can't use it as long in the field as the 817/818
@HamTechRadioScannerDrones2 жыл бұрын
Totally agree i will do a video showing current draw.
