In this weeks video I show you how to setup the Yaesu FT 857D for use on the ao85 satellite

miller0048 you will enjoy satellite I find the arrow 2 cable too short . I wear the 857 with a bunji cord so I've got one hand for antenna and one for microphone

Hi. The 857 transceiver resets the tone function every time I try to tune the frequency, but the 817 does not. Do you also?

@@daviajando-ju3qe no this radio doesn’t have a cross band function as far as I’m aware I’ve had the radio for a few years and never come across it

Nikos Ntzanis I use a arrow 2 antenna and hold it in my have you can adjust the Doppler on receive with the big dial . Your like your ft857d I’ve also done a video on this channel on how to receive your first satellite station

I search the Internet and see that using some softewares like sdr console or other the doppler set automaticly by the software.

Do you ever work the ssb birds? If so what antenna? We have a brutal winter coming so I would like to get something up for outside so I can be in the shack for satellites.

Jay w4zxt hi I’ve never worked ssb birds the antenna I use is a arrow 2 antenna not done satellites for ages I’ll have to get back into it again

September 1, 2019 - Great Video but I'm wondering, can I store the split frequencies with the 67 PL Tone into a memory slot? I was able to save the split frequency but the PL tone didn't seem to carry over. Do you know how to add it to a memory channel?

Jay Vee it could be the same as adding a repeater to the radio then name the of the satellite your working ie so50 I’ve done a video on how to program a repeater In to the radio
